Safety Information

Important Safety Instructions

Read and understand all instructions before using this product. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious personal injury.

Electrical Safety

Ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protection should be provided on the circuit(s) or outlet(s) to be used for the chain saw.

Child Safety

Tragic accidents can occur if the operator is not aware of the presence of children.

General Power Tool Safety

Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Chain Saw Specific Safety

Keep all parts of the body away from the saw chain when the chain saw is operating.

Preparation

Saw Chain Lubrication and Filling

Never operate the chain saw without saw chain oil. The use of the chain saw without enough saw chain oil will damage the unit.

Adjusting Chain Tension

Always check the chain tension before use, after the first cuts and regularly during use, approx. every 10 minutes.

Operating Instructions

Connecting to Power Supply

Use only an extension cord recommended for outdoor use. Insert the power plug of the chain saw into the extension cord.

Starting and Stopping

Ensure that the chain saw is connected to the power supply. For switching on the chain saw, press the lock-off button, then fully press the switch trigger.

Preventing Kickback

The term kickback refers to when the saw suddenly jumps up and back. This is usually caused by the work piece coming into contact with the chain bar tip.

Sawing Techniques

Saw off the lower branches on the tree first. By doing so, it is easier for the cut branches to fall to the ground.

Felling a Tree

When bucking and felling operations are being performed by two or more persons at the same time, the felling operations should be separated.

Bucking a Log

Bucking is cutting a log into lengths. It is important to make sure your footing is firm and your weight is evenly distributed on both feet.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe off the housing and the plastic components using a moist, soft cloth. Do not use strong solvents or detergents.

Replacing Saw Chain and Guide Bar

Only use replacement bar/chain in the specifications. DO NOT use any other bar/chain combination.

Sharpening the Saw Chain

Keep chain sharp. Your saw will cut faster and more safely. A dull chain will cause undue sprocket, guide bar, chain, and motor wear.

Storage

Store the appliance and extension cord indoors, in a cool dry location, out of reach of children and animals.
