Accidental starting.

Disconnect the battery cables before
working on the generator set.
Remove the negative (- ) lead first
when disconnecting the battery.
Reconnect the negative (- ) lead last
when reconnecting the battery.
WARNING
Disabling the generator set. Accidental starting can
cause severe injury or death. Before working on the
generator set or equipment connected to the set, disable the
generator set as follows: (1) Press the generator set off/reset
button to shut down the generator set. (2) Disconnect the
power to the battery charger, if equipped. (3) Remove the
battery cables, negative (- ) lead first. Reconnect the negative
(- ) lead last when reconnecting the battery. Follow these
precautions to prevent the starting of the generator set by the
remote start/stop switch.
10.7.3 Activator Board Function and
Connections
Activator board GM88453 provides the connection
between the controller with integrated voltage regulator
and the alternator assembly with wiring for the rotor
exciter field leads (FN and FP) and auxiliary power
windings (60, 61, and 62). See Figure 10-17 and
Figure 10-18.
10.7.4 Activator Board Troubleshooting
Use the flowcharts on the following pages to
troubleshoot the alternator assembly and activator
board. The following equipment is required:
D Multimeter, qty. 2
D DC Ammeter (0- 10 Amps) (required if multimeter
doesn’t have 10 amp current measuring capability)
