Why is my KTM 85/105 SX Motorcycle engine overheating?
    • D
      Dennis HoganAug 22, 2025
Your KTM Motorcycle engine may be overheating due to several reasons: insufficient coolant, clogged radiator fins, frothing in the cooling system, pinched or kinked water hoses, incorrect ignition timing because of loose stator screws, or an incorrect compression ratio. To resolve this, top up the coolant and bleed the cooling system, check for leaks, clean the radiator fins, renew the coolant using a branded anti-freeze/anti-corrosive, replace any incorrectly routed hoses, readjust the ignition timing and secure the screws, and measure and adjust the compression ratio.

Why KTM 85/105 SX engine splutters into the carburetor?
    • B
      Beverly RobbinsAug 26, 2025
If your KTM Motorcycle engine sputters into the carburetor, it could be due to a lack of fuel, a spark plug with an incorrect heat value (ignition by incandescence), or uncontrolled air intake. Clean the fuel pipes, examine the tank aeration, and clean it. Fit the correct spark plug. Also, check the intake flange and carburetor to ensure they are firmly set.

What to do if my KTM 85/105 SX Motorcycle engine fails to start?
    • A
      Ashley MunozNov 14, 2025
If your KTM Motorcycle engine fails to start, it could be due to several reasons. It may be an operating error such as old fuel in the float chamber or interrupted fuel supply. The electrode distance may be too great, the plug fouled, or the ignition wire damaged. The kill button wire could be faulty, ignition cable connectors loose, spark too weak, or there could be water in the carburetor. To fix this, open the fuel tap, replenish fuel, and avoid using the choke. If the motorcycle hasn't been used for over a week, drain the fuel from the float chamber. If no fuel leaks out, check the tank ventilation and clean the fuel tap. Reduce the electrode distance to 0.60 mm. Clean or renew the spark plug. Dismount the spark plug, connect the ignition cable, hold it to ground, and actuate the kicks...
