5.1 ENGINE
Main Bearing Case Assembly
1. Unscrew the bearing case screws 1 (3)' and remove the main
bearing
case assemblies (2), (4), (5).
(When reassembling)
• Be sure to install the thrust bearings (6) with their oil groove
facing outward.
• Apply clean engine oil to the crankshaft bearing 2, 3 and
thrust bearings.
•
Align the alignment marks (7) on the main bearing case
assemblies (2). (4), (5).
• Install
the main bearing case assembly (2) to the crankshaft
(1) so that the screw holes (9) face the flywheel.
• Install the main bearing case assemblies 1 (4) and 2 (5) to the
crankshaft (1) so that their casting mark "7 7 l' *' l' )1./' (8)
face
the flywheel.
