Battery information
Initial Startup
The devices are powered with 9 V batteries (not included in delivery; excep-
tion: KE702 D170D).
Before inserting batteries, disconnect all test leads and
turn off the device. Only use batteries according to the
specication.
The battery compartments are on the backside of the devices. Open the bat-
tery compartments (Phillips screwdriver PH2 required), insert the batteries,
and close the battery compartments again.
Operation

TONE=Sendsatoneintothecable/line/wire(s)forndingandtracing
CONT = continuity and resistance testing

identify ports on routers/switches/hubs) (ET400/ET720/ET800 only)
Inaddition,youcanndandtestberopticcables(FO)(ET800only)
Warning:
Where technically possible, work must be carried out in
the absence of voltage!
Do not work at > 90 V DC!
In case of electrical cables/lines as part of a electrical
installation/system work must always be carried out
free of voltage!
ET: The devices must be switches on before it is con-
nected to cable/lines. Otherwise dangerous error states
will not be detected immediately!
