Overview

The Kuvings REVO830 Whole Slow Juicer is an innovative appliance designed for household use, optimized for extracting juice from carrots and celery, as well as a wide variety of other fruits and vegetables. It utilizes a patented slow-speed masticating technology to efficiently extract juice, aiming to provide the best results from ingredients with firm composition and high water content.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Kuvings REVO830 is to extract juice through a slow-speed masticating process. This method minimizes oxidation, preserving more nutrients and enzymes compared to high-speed centrifugal juicers. The juicer is equipped with a unique feeding tube that includes both an Auto-Cut Chute for tough and fibrous ingredients like carrots and celery, and a Flap Gate for soft fruits and vegetables such as apples, oranges, and tomatoes. This dual-feed system allows for efficient processing of different ingredient types.

The juicer comes with a standard juicing strainer for regular juice extraction. Optional attachments expand its functionality: a Blank Strainer for making frozen desserts (like sorbets), a Coarse Strainer for juices with more pulp, and a Smoothie Strainer for thicker beverages. An optional Citrus Maker attachment transforms the juicer into a citrus press, and a Lid Opener tool assists in disassembling a stuck drum lid.

The Smart Cap feature allows users to create mixed juices by keeping the cap closed during juicing, preventing drips, and facilitating quick rinsing between different juice preparations.

Usage Features:

Operating the Kuvings REVO830 is straightforward, but requires adherence to specific guidelines for optimal performance and longevity.

  • Assembly: The top-set components (rotation wiper, strainer, juicing screw, and drum lid) are assembled by aligning red dots on each part and turning the drum lid clockwise to lock it. The assembled top-set then sits on the body, with the juice outlet positioned in front.
  • Ingredient Preparation: Ingredients should be washed thoroughly. Hard vegetables and fibrous foods (e.g., carrots, celery, kale) should be cut to a thickness of 1.5 inches or less for the Auto-Cut Chute. Fibrous leafy vegetables should be bundled. Soft ingredients can be inserted whole or in 1-4 pieces via the Flap Gate. Hard seeds and pits must be removed from fruits, and frozen fruits should be completely thawed before juicing. The manual explicitly warns against juicing ingredients with excessive vegetable or animal oil, dried whole grains, or ice, as these can damage the juicer.
  • Operation: After plugging in the power cord, the FORWARD button initiates juicing. Ingredients should be inserted slowly, one piece at a time, to prevent jamming and ensure optimal extraction. The pusher can be used to guide ingredients and prevent splashing.
  • Troubleshooting Jams: If ingredients become jammed or the drum lid won't open, the REVERSE button can be pressed and held to dislodge them. This process may need to be repeated (REVERSE - OFF - FORWARD) until the jam is cleared. If the lid remains stuck, pouring water down the feeding tube can help.
  • Smart Cap Use: The Smart Cap can be closed to mix juices, prevent dripping, or for quick rinses. It should be left open when juicing ingredients that produce excessive foam (e.g., apples, celery) to prevent overflow.
  • Continuous Operation: The juicer should not be operated continuously for more than 30 minutes to prevent motor overheating. A 30-minute rest period is recommended after continuous use.
  • Pulp Adjustment: If the juice contains too much pulp, disassembling and washing the top-set frequently can help reduce it.
  • Small Seeds: When juicing ingredients with small seeds (e.g., raspberries, pomegranates, grapes), insert them slowly to minimize leftover seeds in the strainer. If the lid is stuck due to excessive small seeds, run the juicer for 30 seconds to extract remaining seeds, then use the REVERSE-OFF-FORWARD sequence.

Maintenance Features:

Regular cleaning and proper maintenance are crucial for the juicer's performance and longevity.

  • Disassembly: After juicing, switch off the unit, unplug it, and ensure the motor has stopped. Turn the drum lid counter-clockwise to open, then lift off the top-set from the body. The juicing screw, strainer, and rotation wiper unit can then be removed from the juicing bowl.
  • Cleaning Tools: The juicer comes with a cleaning brush and a round brush. The cleaning brush is used to clean the outside of the juicing screw and push out residue from crevices. The round brush is specifically designed to clean the juice spout.
  • Quick Rinsing: For quick cleaning between different juices, the Smart Cap can be closed, the juicing bowl filled with water, and the juicer turned on for a moment before opening the Smart Cap to drain.
  • Thorough Cleaning: All parts that come into contact with food should be cleaned under running water immediately after each use to prevent residue from drying and becoming difficult to remove.
  • Silicone Parts: The rotation wiper, silicone ring, and smart cap silicone are removable for thorough cleaning. After cleaning, ensure they are properly reinserted. The silicone ring, in particular, must be firmly inserted to prevent juice leakage.
  • Body Cleaning: The body of the juicer should be cleaned with a soft, damp towel and dried. Avoid using dripping wet towels or hazardous chemicals.
  • Drying and Storage: All cleaned parts should be completely dried before reassembly or storage. An optional Lid Cap can be placed on the drum lid for storage.
  • Special Cleaning: After juicing ingredients with seeds, thoroughly clean the bottom crevices of the juicing screw. If plastic parts become discolored by carotenoid-rich ingredients (e.g., carrots, spinach), rubbing vegetable oil into the dyed areas and using mild detergent can help. However, vegetable oil should only be used for cleaning discolored parts and not on the juicing screw or strainer, as it can affect performance.
