Before beginning any work, read
these instructions.
Disconnect the chassis battery
before beginning any work on the
Level Best System.
Removing the old control and wiring (Refer to Figure 1 for Steps 1 through 5.)
Disconnect the positive cable from
the battery before beginning any
work.
1. Cut the wires going to the Fluid
Level Sensor approximately 1 to 2
inches from the sensor.
2. Remove the wires attached to the
two small posts on the motor
control solenoid. Leave the battery
cables in place.
3. Remove all the spade connectors
from the valve solenoids. One of
the wires forms a daisy chain
connecting each valve together.
Trace this wire back to its
connection point and remove it.
4. Unscrew the hose clamps
connecting the jack motor control
unit to the motor. Pull the control
unit and all of the wires away from
the pump unit.
5. Cut the yellow wires that go to
each jack leg from the control unit.
Discard the control unit unless this
is a warranty repair, in which case
you will need to ship it back with
the warranty claim RMA.

Summary

Removing the Old Control and Wiring

Disconnect Battery Cable

Disconnect the positive battery cable before starting any work on the system.

Cut Fluid Level Sensor Wires

Cut wires to the Fluid Level Sensor approximately 1 to 2 inches from the sensor.

Remove Solenoid Wires

Remove wires from the two small posts on the motor control solenoid.

Disconnect Valve Solenoid Connectors

Remove spade connectors from valve solenoids, tracing and removing the daisy chain wire.

Remove Jack Motor Control Unit

Unscrew hose clamps connecting the jack motor control unit to the motor and remove it.

Cut Jack Leg Control Wires

Cut yellow wires to each jack leg from the control unit; discard or return for warranty.

Installing the New Control

Check Pump Motor Solenoid Condition

Measure pump motor solenoid primary coil resistance to ensure it's within the specified ohm range.

Install Daisy Chain Harness

Install red daisy chain harness, connecting ring terminal to solenoid bolt and spade connectors to valve solenoids.

Attach Wiring Harness Pigtail

Attach wiring harness pigtail to pump, connecting wires to valve markings; note TD1 and TD2 wiring.

Connect Ground Lug Wire

Connect the black wire with ring lug to the pump's ground bolt, possibly on the motor.

Connect Pump Solenoid Wire

Connect the red wire with ring lug to the pump solenoid on the battery cable side.

Connect SOL + Wire

Connect the white wire (SOL +) to an empty small post on the pump solenoid.

Connect Jumper Wire

Connect a 12" jumper wire between remaining solenoid posts and the pump ground bolt.

Install 16 Multi-Wire Harness

Route the 16' multi-wire harness through the firewall to the control panel location.

Connect Ignition Source Wire

Connect the yellow wire to a 12V ignition source active when the engine is running.

Connect Park Brake Wire

Connect the blue wire to the park brake wire, ensuring it shows ground when the brake is set.

Identify Park Brake Signal Wire

Identify park brake signal wire and type (12V or ground), using a relay if a positive signal is present.

Wire Jack Leg Position Switches

Wire jack leg position switches in series using TD1 wire; connect sensors sequentially.

Connect Last Sensor Wire to Ground

Connect the last sensor's remaining wire to a yellow wire, running it to the pump grounding bolt.

Check All Wiring Connections

Ensure all wiring connections are fully inserted and locked before reconnecting battery cables.

Control Panel Installation

Mounting Location and Routing

Install the control panel using a mounting bracket below the instrument panel or flush mount it.

Wire Routing Through Firewall

Determine wire routing, using existing holes or drilling a 1 1/2" hole through the firewall.

Bracket Mount Application

Select Mounting Position

Select a dash position with adequate surface area for the bracket and convenient operation.

Flush Panel Mount Application

Layout and Cut Opening

Layout and cut opening for flush mounting the control panel; route cable through the dash.

Seal Drilled Holes

Seal any holes drilled from the interior to the exterior of the vehicle with a silicone sealant.

Completing the Wiring Connections

Verify Ground Connections

Check that all system ground harness connections are firmly attached.

Connect Pump Motor Power Cable

Connect the 8 ft. red #4 cable from the pump motor's solenoid to the positive chassis battery terminal.
