This document describes the Lamona Angled Extractor, a domestic appliance designed for kitchen ventilation.
Function Description
The Angled Extractor is designed to clear unwanted cooking odors from the kitchen. It supports two primary methods of extraction:
- Ducting Mode (External Venting): This is the most effective method, where the appliance connects to an exhaust duct and vents air to the outside atmosphere via the ceiling or an exterior wall. In this mode, charcoal filters are not required.
- Recirculation Mode: In this mode, the extractor filters the air and recirculates it back into the kitchen. This method requires the use of charcoal filters (LAM2004, supplied separately). The suction will be lower in recirculation mode compared to external venting.
The extractor features a control panel with:
- Extractor Light On/Off: To control the appliance's lighting.
- Extractor Power Levels (1, 2, 3): To adjust the fan speed.
- Intensive Function (3i): Activated by pressing power level 3 twice, this provides an intensive speed for 6 minutes, after which the hood automatically switches off. It can be deactivated by pressing power level 3 again.
- Delay Function: This function automatically switches off the hood 5 minutes after setting. It can be activated on all power functions by pressing and holding the power level icon for 5 seconds (the icon will flash when activated). It can be ended sooner by pressing the power level icon again.
Important Technical Specifications
The Lamona Angled Extractor models covered by this manual are:
- LAM2703: 60cm Stainless Steel
- LAM2704: 60cm Black
- LAM2705: 90cm Stainless Steel
- LAM2706: 90cm Black
General Technical Information:
- Total power consumption: 142W
- Fuse: 3A
- Voltage/Frequency: 220-240 V ~ 50 Hz
- Cable type/section: 0.75mm², 3 core or equivalent
- Cable length: max. 1.5m
- Lamps: 2x 1W LED natural white 4000k
Installation Requirements:
- The recommended fixing height for the hood is 700mm above the hob, with a minimum of 465mm if required.
- For external ducting, the ducting tube should be kept as short and straight as possible (maximum length 3 meters) to ensure smooth airflow. Ducted air must not be discharged into a flue used for other appliances (e.g., gas boilers).
- Adequate room ventilation must be provided when the extractor is used simultaneously with other fuel-burning appliances.
- The appliance must be connected to fixed wiring via a double pole switched fused spur outlet with at least 3mm contact separation. The isolation switch must be accessible after installation.
- Electrical connections: Blue wire to Neutral (N/BLACK), Brown wire to Live (L/RED), Green/Yellow wire to Earth (E/Symbol).
Usage Features
- Optimized Efficiency: To maximize efficiency and reduce environmental impact, it is recommended to install the product in a ducted configuration with the maximum advised ducting diameter, keeping ducts as straight and short as possible. Filters should be cleaned/replaced regularly. The hood should be switched on at the minimum speed needed to clear odors, and lighting should be switched off when not in use.
- Condensation Management: When cooking with high water content, steam may condense on cold metallic surfaces. Using lids on pans can help reduce steam and subsequent condensation. This condensation is not a fault of the hob or extractor if correctly installed.
Maintenance Features
- General Cleaning: External surfaces should be wiped regularly with warm water and a mild detergent. Abrasive or strong household cleaners should be avoided as they can damage the product's appearance and void the warranty.
- Grease Filters: These metallic filters should be cleaned every two months or more frequently depending on cooking habits. They can be washed in a dishwasher (separately from other items) using a neutral detergent. Filters must be thoroughly dried before reinstallation. To remove, push the latch and lower the filter. Reinstallation is the reverse process.
- Carbon Filters (for recirculation mode only): These filters have a limited life and should be changed when a noticeable drop in performance occurs, typically every 3 months. The part reference for reordering is LAM2004 (pack of 2). To change, first remove the grease filters, then gently turn and remove the old carbon filters, install new ones, refit grease filters, and reconnect power.
- Lamps: The extractor is fitted with 1W LED lamps. Lamp replacement is a service fix only and should be carried out by an authorized service agent. The lamps should only be used during cooker hood operation, not as a permanent main lighting source.
- Troubleshooting Guide: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the fan not working, lamps failing, reduced fan efficiency, lingering smells, or the product not operating, along with possible causes and solutions. For persistent problems, users are advised to contact the depot or an Authorized Service Agent.
