Wireless Seismic Sensor Description:
Wireless seismic sensors locate buried victims by detecting slight sounds. In open areas, they have a maximum range of 100m, and in operation, depending on the zone, up to 30m.
Each wireless sensor includes:
- A removable base to access the battery compartment (3 AAA batteries).
- An aerial.
- An ON/OFF button with LED.
- A strap for handling the sensor in rubble.
- A number corresponding to its pairing number.
Each sensor comes with a magnetic plate for attachment to metal structures and a probe for use on loose soil.
Wired Seismic Sensor Description:
A wired sensor includes:
- A wire sensor.
- A cable reel with 8m cable.
- A connector to the control box or a second sensor.
- A connector for a second sensor.
- A number corresponding to its sensor number.
The first sensor connects to the control box, and subsequent sensors connect to the previous one.
Audio Probe Description:
The audio sensor allows communication with and listening to a victim. Its 8-meter (26 ft) cable facilitates communication in most cases. It is water-resistant (IP 67) and its 38 mm (1.5 in) diameter allows use in core sample drill holes. The microphone's sensitivity enables hearing whispers.
Headset Description:
The audio headset is used for:
- Communicating with the victim.
- Listening to the wireless sensors.
An optional second headset can be connected via a Y connector.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Control Box Screen: 5-inch TFT color 16/9, high brightness.
- Control Box Protection: IP54 (water and dust resistant), resistant to 2-meter falls.
- Wireless Sensor Range: Up to 100m (330 ft) in open field, typically 30m in operational zones.

- Battery Type (Control Box): Lithium polymer rechargeable battery pack.
- Battery Type (Wireless Sensors): 3 AAA batteries per sensor.
- Charger: 100/240V 50/60Hz.
- Charging Temperature: 0°C to 45°C.
Usage Features:
- Control Box Power Supply: Uses a lithium polymer battery pack, recharged separately. A backup battery pack (10 AAA batteries) can be used. LED indicators on the charger show charging status (Green: charged/not connected, Red: charging).
- Powering On/Off: Press the ON/OFF key for 2 seconds to power on/off. A loading screen displays software version and serial number. If no sensors are connected, a "sensor not connected" icon appears, and the device powers off after 5 minutes.
- Sun Shield: Positions over the screen to improve visibility in bright light. Stores flat and can protect the screen during transport.
- Seismic Search Mode:
- Powering On Wireless Sensors: Press the push button for at least 1 second. LED indicators show connection status: Slow flashing (no connection), Fixed (connection in progress), Fast flashing (connection established), Very fast flashing (pairing sequence).
- Sensor Power Off: Press the push button for at least 1 second. Sensors power off automatically after 20 seconds if no connection is made.
- Connecting Multiple Wireless Sensors: Power on the control box first, then power on each sensor one by one, waiting for it to appear on screen before powering on the next.
- Pairing Seismic Sensors: Sensors are factory-paired. To pair to a new control box: turn off control box, press sensor button for 15 seconds (LED flashes very quickly then off), turn on sensor (LED flashes very quickly), turn on control box (sensor pairs then switches off), turn sensor back on (recognized).
- Sensor Number Selection: A selector in the sensor battery compartment allows choosing sensor numbers (1, 2, or 3). The number is memorized during pairing.
- Seismic Mode Menu: Displays bar-charts for each connected sensor, showing maximum sound levels. Sound gain can be adjusted using "▲" and "▼" keys. A headset icon indicates audible sensors (MONO by default). Keyboard keys below each bar chart allow selecting which sensors to listen to.
- Listening Modes:
- MONO: Sound heard in both ears.
- STEREO: Concentrate listening to sensors in the left or right ear using the "Toggle" key. Arrows indicate listening direction.
- Filter Control Function:
- "Filter high": Low-pass filter to remove sharp noises (cut-off from 600Hz to 3000Hz).
- "Filter low": High-pass filter to remove bass noises (cut-off from 20Hz to 300Hz).
- Sensor Battery Level Function: Displays battery levels for connected wireless sensors. A battery icon appears above the bar graph when batteries are low (20% remaining). Low battery increases disconnection risk, so replacement is recommended.
- Screen Brightness Function: Adjusts screen brightness to ambient light conditions, saving battery power. Default is 50%. The setting is memorized.
- Audio Probe Function: The audio probe connector is shared with the wired seismic sensor. Listening to the victim has priority. Push-to-Talk enables rescuer-to-victim communication. A second headset can be connected. Headset and speaker volumes are adjustable.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: Use a dry, soft cloth. Avoid solvents or alcohols to prevent discoloration or distortion.
- Battery Replacement: Replace wireless sensor batteries when low to avoid disconnections.
