General Characteristics and Compliance

Overview

The Legrand Connected Energy Meter, identified by Cat. number 4 120 15, is a device designed to measure and visualize electrical consumption in single-phase alternating current circuits. It requires prior installation of a "with Netatmo" connected starter pack or a Gateway module to function.

Function Description

The primary function of this device is to allow users to monitor their electrical consumption via a smartphone using the Home + Control app. It provides automatic energy consumption information for the circuit to which a Connected Contactor is wired. Additionally, it offers a history of electricity consumption, accessible through the Home + Control application. The technology behind this meter involves single-phase current measurement using a closed coil (included with the energy meter) and data transmission via radio frequency to the connected network.

Usage Features

Configuration and Use: The device is compatible with the Legrand smartphone app, "HOME + CONTROL," which is available for free on Google Play and the App Store.

Mounting: It can be mounted on a symmetrical rail EN / IEC 60615 or DIN 35. The operating position can be vertical, horizontal, or flat.

Row Positioning: The product's design allows for the passage of single-line, three-line, and plug-in supply busbars in the upper part. This flexibility enables users to freely choose the position of the Connected Energy Meter within a row and connect other devices on the same DIN rail using a supply busbar.

Installation Process:

  1. Prerequisites: To create a connected installation, either a gateway module or a connected starter pack (compatible with "with Netatmo" devices) must be installed.
  2. Power Off: Turn off the general circuit breaker before wiring.
  3. Power On: After wiring is complete and checked, turn the general circuit breaker back ON to power the devices and allow connection to the network.
  4. Pairing: Press and hold the gateway module settings button (or the center of the Home / Away wireless master switch) for more than 3 seconds until the LED turns green, then release. The configuration LEDs of all "with Netatmo" devices in the installation should light up in fixed green.
  5. Finalization: Briefly press the setting button on the gateway module (or the center of the Home / Away wireless master switch) to finalize the installation. All "with Netatmo" device LEDs should then turn OFF.

Device Status Visualization (via LED on the front face):

  • Red (Fixed): Temporary status. Device not connected to the radio network.
  • Green (Fixed): Temporary status. Device correctly paired to the radio network (when the radio network is still open).
  • OFF: Normal status. Device paired to the radio network (when the radio network is closed).

Real-time and Historical Data Visualization: Accessed via smartphone with the Home+Control app.

Other Configurations and Actions: All other features and settings, such as scenarios, are explained step-by-step within the smartphone app.

Maintenance Features

Module Maintenance: The design allows for switching a Connected Energy Meter in the middle of a row, supplied by an upstream busbar, without disconnecting other devices on the same DIN rail. This involves a three-step process:

  1. Unclip the clamp to put it in the open position.
  2. Pull the device forward to release it from the DIN rail.
  3. Pull the device downward to completely release it from the prongs of the busbar.

Resetting to Remove from a Connected Installation: To remove the energy meter from a connected installation, press and hold the setting button for over 5 seconds until the LED on the setting button turns fixed red. This indicates it is no longer paired with the gateway module or the Home / Away wireless master switch.

Labelling: The product includes a label holder on the front face for inserting a label to identify the circuit. An icon is also present to easily identify a connected device in the electrical panel board.

Recommended Tools:

  • For terminals: Flat-blade screwdriver 3.5 mm.
  • For clamping: Flat-blade screwdriver 5.5 mm or less.

Compliance and Approvals:

  • Standards: EN 61869-1, EN 61869-2, EN 61010-1.
  • Environment Respect (European Union Directives): Complies with Directive 2002/95/EC ("RoHS"), Directive 91/338/EEC, and regulation REACH.
  • Packaging: Design and manufacture comply with Decree 98-638 and Directive 94/62/EC.

Recommendations: For device protection against short circuits, it is recommended to use a circuit breaker or fuse gG.
