What to do if having trouble scanning a particular slide with Leica BIOSYSTEMS Laboratory Equipment?
    • W
      wilsonteresaAug 12, 2025
If you're having trouble scanning a particular slide, consider these points: * Is the slide tissue extremely thick or thin? * Is the slide extremely dark or faint? If so, use a parameter set such as faint. * Is the label large or located inside the area of interest? Remove the label or adjust the area of interest. * Are there pen marks on the coverslip? Remove the marks or perform a manual scan. * Is there dust or debris on the coverslip or bottom surface? Clean the slide. * Are there bubbles under the coverslip? Perform a manual scan. * Is there excess adhesive around edges of the coverslip? Clean or perform a manual scan.

How to fix Leica BIOSYSTEMS Laboratory Equipment scanner that fails to start up?
    • A
      Amanda JacksonAug 15, 2025
If your scanner fails to start up, check the following: * Verify that the power switch at the back of the unit is on. * Ensure all scanner doors are closed, including the AutoLoader carousel door, as the scanner cannot start unless all doors are shut. * Click the Aperio Service Manager icon in the Windows task bar and check that the entry for the Controller has a green dot and says 'Stop Controller Service.' If it has a red dot and says 'Start Controller Service,' click the entry to restart it.

Why is the entire image out of focus on my Leica BIOSYSTEMS Laboratory Equipment?
    • M
      Michael MartinezAug 19, 2025
If the entire image is out of focus, verify that the slide is being held flat and not moving in the tray during scanning; tape down the slide if necessary. Also, optic surfaces (such as the objective) may contain finger prints.

What to do if autofocus did not detect at least four focus points using Leica BIOSYSTEMS Laboratory Equipment?
    • M
      Michael CarterAug 23, 2025
If the autofocus did not detect at least four focus points, it may be because the tissue is too faint to scan; use the faint parameter set. You can also try performing a new presnap.

Why are individual stripes of the image poorly focused on my Leica BIOSYSTEMS Laboratory Equipment?
    • R
      Richard AndersonAug 27, 2025
If individual stripes of the image are poorly focused while neighboring stripes are perfect, this may indicate that the slide is moving during scanning. Verify that the slide tray is clean and the slide is sitting flat and not rocking.

How to prevent Tissue Finder from including non-tissue area in Leica BIOSYSTEMS Laboratory Equipment scan?
    • H
      Hannah RichardsSep 3, 2025
To prevent the Tissue Finder from including a non-tissue area in the scan area of interest during the scan, perform a new presnap with a very clean, blank slide and repeat the manual load.

What to do if Leica BIOSYSTEMS Laboratory Equipment scanner cannot create a calibration image?
    • B
      Bianca ReyesSep 7, 2025
If you receive an error message stating that the scanner cannot create a calibration image, set the line camera gains.

What does it mean if Leica BIOSYSTEMS Laboratory Equipment displays 'bulb may be unusable'?
    • R
      richardsonbenjaminDec 1, 2025
If the calibration image is displayed but the error message 'bulb may be unusable' appears, consider the following: * If the calibration image is clear but too dark or too bright, set the line camera gains. * If the calibration image contains considerable tissue, while looking at the video monitor display, click on a clear glass area without tissue and verify that location is clear. Then move the blue diamond (calibration point) to that clear area. * If the calibration image contains coverslip or other defects, try the parameter set coverslip to help the scanner ignore edges or defects. * If the calibration image is very uneven, verify the slide is sitting flat and repeat with another slide. An uneven calibration may also indicate optical misalignment due to mishandling which requ...
