9 The S.U.S.I. interface
In cooperation with the company DIETZ, the concept of a sound and function interface for
locomotive decoders was devised in 2002. The purpose of the interface is to facilitate particularly
easy connection of the sound and other function modules to a locomotive decoder.
The S.U.S.I. module receives information on the running notch, the status of the functions etc. via
the interface and reacts accordingly, for example the sound of a bell is played or the locomotive
sound changes.
