6 Electrical installation
Im portant notes
6.1 Im portant notes
Hazardous voltage on the power connections even when disconnected
from mains: residual voltage >60 V!
Before w orking on the power connections, always disconnect the drive
com ponent from the mains and w ait until the m otor is at standstill.
Verify safe isolation from supply!
@ Stop!
Electrical connections must be carried out in accordance w ith the
national and regional regulations!
Observe tolerances according to IEC/EN 60034-1:
-V o lta g e ±5 %
- Frequency ±2 %
- W ave form , sym m etry (increases heating and affects electrom agnetic
com patibility)
Observe notes on w iring, inform ation on the nam eplate, and the connection scheme in
the term inal box.
• The connection m ust ensure a continuous and safe electrical supply, i.e.
- no loose w ire ends,
- use assigned cable end fittings,
- ensure good electrical conductivity o f the contact (remove residual lacquer) if an
(additional) PE connection on the m otor housing is used),
- establish a safe PE conductor connection,
-tig h te n the plugin connector to the lim it stop.
-A f te r the connection is com pleted, make sure th at all connections on the
term inal board are firm ly tightened.
• The sm allest air gaps between uncoated, live parts and against earth must not fall
below the fo llow in g values.
Minimum requirements for basic
insulation according to IEC/EN
60664-1 (CE)
Higher requirements for UL
design
Motor diameter
3.87 mm
6.4 mm < 178 mm
9.5 mm > 178 mm
• The term inal box has to be free of foreign bodies, dirt, and hum idity.
• All unused cable entries and the box itself m ust be sealed against dust and water.
