1-2. Opening, closing and locking the doors and trunk

Before driving
■ Tr un k e a s y cl oser
When the trunk lid is not completely closed, the trunk easy closer will automatically
close it. Be careful not to catch fingers or anything else in the trunk lid. Failure to do
so may result in serious injury.
■ Power trunk opener and closer
● When the power trunk opener and closer is operating, check the safety of the
surrounding area and take extra care to prevent your fingers etc. from being
caught in the trunk lid. Also pay attention to your personal belongings, such as
bags or ties.
● Do not attach any accessories other than Lexus genuine parts to the trunk lid.
Doing so may prevent the power trunk opener and closer from operating auto-
matically, resulting in a malfunction. It may also cause the trunk lid to fall down
after it has fully opened, resulting in serious injury.
● Remove any heavy loads, such as snow, on the trunk lid before opening it.
Failure to do so may cause the trunk lid to fall down due to the load after it opens.
● If any abnormality is detected while the power trunk opener and closer is operat-
ing, such as when the trunk lid contacts an obstacle, the automatic operation may
stop and change to manual operation. Before operating the power trunk opener
and closer, make sure that there are no obstacles.
■ Jam protection function (vehicles with a power trunk opener and closer only)
● Never use any part of your body to intentionally activate the jam protection func-
tion.
● The jam protection function may not work if something gets caught just before
the trunk lid fully closes.
