LDP-9224D Handset Key Features Guide
1. LCD Screen: Displays your phones status, dialing
directories, and text message information.
2. Soft keys: Soft keys are interactive, changing function
based on the phones status.
3. Direction keys: use direction keys to scroll through the
soft key menu.

5. Speed: assign or use assigned speed dial numbers.
6. Trans/PGM: transfer the current active call or access
the Program menu while the phone is idle.
7. Directory: Accesses your private or public directory for
speed dialing.
8. DND (Do-Not-Disturb): blocks incoming calls. You can
also activate Do-Not-Disturb while the phone is ringing.

9. Call Back: when a light shows on the call back button
this indicates you have a message, use to access your
Voice Mailbox.
10. Mute: mute the call so that the caller cannot hear your
voice.

12. Headset: when a headset is connected, toggle call
between headset and speaker.
13. Flexible Button (‘Flex key’): a line or feature can be
administrator for help.
14. Volume control: adjust the ring, headset, handset, and
speaker volume.
15. Speakerphone:
during a call. The button will automatically illuminate
when the phone is in menu mode.

Dealing with Calls

Answering an Incoming Call

Lift handset or press flashing Flex button; may use pickup codes for other ringing handsets.

Making an External Call

Lift handset, press free flex key or dial 9 for outside line, then dial number.

Making an Internal Call

Lift handset and dial extension or press assigned flex key.

Rejecting a Call

Press DND button during incoming call for busy tone.

Placing a Call on Hold

Press Hold/Save button during a call; press flashing line key to reconnect.

Quick Access Call Tools

Speed Dial

Lift handset, press Speed button, then dial desired System or Station Speed Dial number.

Last Number Redial (LNR)

Automatically saves last external number; redial via flex button or * code.

Call Waiting

Notifies station of waiting call when dialing an engaged extension.

Camp On

Allows waiting off-hook for a busy called station to answer.

Transferring a Call

Press Transfer button, dial number, announce (screened) and hang up.

Returning to Caller from Transfer

Press flashing line key or Trans/PGM button.

Features

Do-Not-Disturb

Press DND button to activate or deactivate, making extension unavailable for calls.

Conference Calls (3-Way Calling)

Establish calls with multiple parties using the 'conf' soft button.
