Overview

This document is the owner's manual for an LG washing machine, model F2V7GWL**. It provides comprehensive information on the safe and efficient operation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the appliance.

Function Description

The LG washing machine is designed for household use, offering various washing programmes and features to clean different types of fabrics. It is equipped with advanced technologies to ensure effective cleaning while being mindful of energy and water consumption. The machine allows users to customize washing cycles based on fabric type, soil level, and desired temperature, and includes options for adding detergent, softener, and other laundry aids.

Important Technical Specifications

The washing machine operates on a power supply of 220-240 V~, 50 Hz. Its product weight is 59 kg. The dimensions are 600 mm (W) x 850 mm (H) x 535 mm (D'). The rated capacity is 8.5 kg. The energy efficiency class is A+++, indicating high energy efficiency. The energy consumption on standard programmes is 1.04 kWh for the standard 60° Cotton programme at full load, 0.82 kWh at partial load, and 0.36 kWh at quarter load. Weighted power consumption of the off-mode and of the left-on mode is 0.50 W. Water consumption for standard 220 washing cycles for cotton programmes at 60° and 40° at full and partial load is 11500 litres/year. The spin drying efficiency class is C, with a maximum spin speed of 1200 RPM for the standard 40° + Cotton programme at full load or the standard 40° + Cotton programme at partial load, whichever is lower, and remaining moisture content attained for the standard 60° + Cotton programme at full load or the standard 40° + Cotton programme at partial load, whichever is greater. The remaining moisture content is 60%. Noise levels during washing are 58 dBA and during spinning are 76 dBA.

Usage Features

The washing machine offers a variety of programmes, including Cotton, Cotton+, TurboWash 59, Mixed Fabric, Easy Care, Silent Wash, Allergy Care, Delicates, Hand/Wool, Sportswear, Speed 14, and Duvet. Each programme is tailored to specific fabric types and soil levels, with recommended temperatures and maximum load capacities. For example, the Cotton programme washes normally soiled cotton clothes at 40°C (cold to 95°C) with a max load of 8.5 kg, while the Delicates programme washes machine-washable lingerie, sheer, and lacy clothes at 20°C (cold to 40°C) with a max load of 2 kg.

Key operational features include:

  • Power On/Off Button: To turn the machine on or off.
  • Programme Knob: To select washing programmes.
  • Start/Pause Button: To start or pause a wash cycle.
  • Extra Options and Functions: Allows users to select additional programmes and light when selected. These include options like Steam, Wrinkle Care, Pre Wash, and Intensive, which can be combined with various programmes.
  • Remote Start (LG ThinQ app): Enables remote control of the appliance via a smartphone.
  • Wi-Fi: Allows connection to the LG ThinQ application for smart features.
  • Customizing Washing Programme Buttons: To adjust water temperature or spin speed settings.
  • Display: Shows estimated remaining time, options, and status messages.
  • Programme Status Indicators: LEDs indicate the active stage of the wash cycle (e.g., washing, rinsing, spinning).
  • AI DD: Provides appropriate drum rotation actions after load sensing.
  • Estimated Time Remaining: Displays the remaining time for the programme, which may change based on load, temperature, and other factors.
  • Child Lock: Prevents children from changing cycles or operating the appliance.

The manual also details how to prepare the wash load, sort clothes, check for items in pockets, and load the machine. It provides guidance on adding detergents and softeners, including dosage recommendations and proper placement in the dispenser.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the washing machine. The manual outlines several maintenance procedures:

  • Cleaning After Every Wash:
    • What to Clean: Remove items from the washing machine as soon as the cycle is complete to prevent wrinkles and odours. Wipe the drum and door seal to remove any moisture. Leave the door slightly open to dry the drum. Wipe the appliance with a dry cloth.
    • Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe off any spills immediately. Wipe with a damp cloth and then again with a dry cloth, ensuring no moisture in cabinet joints or crevices. Do not press on the surface or display with sharp objects.
    • Door: Wash with a damp cloth on the outside and inside, then dry with a soft cloth.
  • Cleaning the Appliance Periodically:
    • Tub Clean: This programme helps clean the inside of the appliance by soaking, washing, rinsing, and spinning. It is recommended to run this once a month or more often if needed to reduce build-up of detergent and softener residue.
    • Cleaning the Water Inlet Filter: Turn off the power and water tap, then unscrew the water inlet hose. Remove the water inlet filter with small pliers and clean the filter using a medium bristle toothbrush.
    • Cleaning the Drain Pump Filter and Performing an Emergency Water Evacuation: Allow water to cool before cleaning. Open the door in an emergency or to perform an emergency water evacuation. Unplug the appliance. Open the cover cap and pull out the drain tube. Remove the drain plug from the drain tube and drain the water. After cleaning, reinsert the plug and close the cover cap. Unscrew the drain pump filter slowly to drain remaining water and remove any debris or objects. Reinsert the plug back into the drain tube and place the tube into its holder. Close the cover cap.
    • Cleaning the Dispenser Drawer: Remove the detergent dispenser drawer by pulling the drawer straight out until it stops, then gently pull the drawer outward while pressing the disengage button. Rinse the drawer and its components with warm water to remove build-up from detergent and softener. Use only water to clean the dispenser drawer. Clean the drawer opening, remove residue from the upper and lower parts of the recess. Wipe any moisture with a dry towel or cloth after cleaning. Reassemble the components of the drawer.

The manual also includes troubleshooting information for common error messages and operational issues, such as inlet error, unbalance error, water outlet error, door error, control error, motor locked error, overflow error, pressure sensor error, vibration sensor error, frozen failure, water leakage, and power failure. It also addresses noises, water leakage, and appliance operational problems.

For environmental care, the manual advises on the proper disposal of the old appliance, indicating that it should not be disposed of with general household waste but through designated collection points for electrical and electronic products (WEEE). This helps prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health.
