Why is my LG Refrigerator ice maker not working?
    • J
      Jeremiah WatersAug 23, 2025
If your LG Refrigerator's automatic icemaker isn't producing ice or is producing only a small amount, consider these points: If the appliance was recently installed, it takes about 48 hours to produce ice. Ensure the water supply pipe is connected and the valve is fully open and that the water supply hose isn't bent. If you've recently dispensed a large amount of ice, allow about 24 hours for more ice to be produced. Check that the ice maker switch or the automatic icemaker button on the control panel is set to ON. The freezer temperature should be set to -18 °C for normal operation. Avoid frequent opening of the appliance door, and ensure the door is completely closed.

Why won't my LG GML936NSHV connect to Wi-Fi?
    • K
      Katherine GilmoreAug 26, 2025
If your LG Refrigerator isn't connecting to Wi-Fi, ensure the Wi-Fi password you're using is correct. Remove the Wi-Fi network connected to your smartphone and re-register your appliance on LG SmartThinQ. Turn off mobile data on your smartphone and use the Wi-Fi network to register the appliance. The wireless network name (SSID) should be a combination of English letters and numbers, without special characters. Only a 2.4 GHz router frequency is supported, so set the wireless router to 2.4 GHz. If the distance between the appliance and the router is too far, move the router closer to the appliance.

    • J
      Jonathan CraigAug 27, 2025
Frost formation in your LG Refrigerator's freezer compartment can occur if the doors aren't closed properly, ensure no food items are blocking the door. Cool hot food before storing it in the freezer. Check that the air entry or exit of the freezer compartment isn't blocked to allow proper air circulation. Also, avoid overfilling the freezer compartment; maintain appropriate space between items.

Why does the water from my LG GML936NSHV Refrigerator taste bad?
    • K
      kimberlyhenrySep 6, 2025
If the water from your LG Refrigerator tastes strange, consider whether the taste differs from your previous water purifier. If purified or cold water hasn't been used for a while, it may affect the taste. Ensure you replace the filter according to its replacement period, as expired filters can reduce purification performance. When installing or replacing the filter, flush it properly by dispensing about 5 litres of purified water to remove air and activated carbon residue. If purified or cold water hasn't been used for an extended period, dispense about 5 litres to flush out any bacterial growth.

If your LG Refrigerator door isn't closing tightly, adjust the front feet to raise the front side slightly, ensuring the appliance isn't leaning forward.
