Why is my LG Refrigerator and Freezer not cooling?
    • S
      Sean TownsendAug 17, 2025
Several factors can cause your LG Refrigerator and Freezer not to cool. It's possible the refrigerator control is set to OFF; if so, turn it ON, consulting the Setting the Controls section for proper temperature settings. The refrigerator may be in the defrost cycle; wait 30 minutes to see if the proper temperature restores after the cycle. If the refrigerator was recently installed or relocated, it can take up to 24 hours to reach the desired temperature. If relocated and stored on its side, allow it to stand upright for 24 hours before connecting to power.

What to do if LG lfcs31626s Refrigerator or Freezer section is too warm?
    • T
      Timothy Marquez MDAug 20, 2025
If your LG refrigerator or freezer section is too warm, several factors could be the cause. If recently installed, allow up to 24 hours to reach the desired temperature. Ensure air vents aren't blocked by rearranging items for proper airflow. Reduce the frequency and duration of door openings. Avoid operating the unit in temperatures above 110F. Cool hot food before placing it inside. Make sure the doors are closing correctly. If the temperature control isn't set correctly, adjust it one increment at a time, allowing the temperature to stabilize. Also, wait 30 minutes after a defrost cycle to confirm the proper temperature has been restored.

Why is my LG icemaker not making ice?
    • J
      Jenna FinleyAug 22, 2025
Several reasons could explain why your LG icemaker isn't producing ice. If the refrigerator or icemaker was recently installed, allow up to 24 hours to reach the proper temperature and begin ice production. Ensure the icemaker is turned on by locating the Ice On/Off button. Verify the refrigerator is connected to a water supply and the shutoff valve is fully open. Check for obstructions to the icemaker shutoff arm, ensuring it moves freely. Note that using a reverse osmosis water filtration system may also affect ice production; refer to the Water Pressure section.

Why is my LG icemaker not making enough ice?
    • K
      Keith StephensonAug 26, 2025
There are several reasons why your LG icemaker might not be producing enough ice. The demand may exceed the ice storage capacity, as the icemaker produces approximately 50-100 cubes in 24 hours. Ensure the house water supply is connected, the valve is fully open, and not clogged. Replace the water filter approximately every six months. Low house water supply pressure can also be a factor; the water pressure must be between 20 and 120 psi (40-120 psi with a water filter). Check for kinks in the tubing connecting the refrigerator to the house supply valve; straighten or repair the line.

    • J
      Joseph HumphreyAug 28, 2025

Food with high water content placed near an air vent can freeze; rearrange such items away from the vents. Why does my LG lfcs31626s Refrigerator cooling system run too much?
    • L
      Lisa KerrSep 5, 2025
Several reasons may cause your LG refrigerator's cooling system to run excessively. Modern refrigerators are more efficient but require more operating time. If recently plugged in, it can take up to 24 hours to cool completely. Frequent door openings or adding large/hot food amounts can also increase running time; retrieve all items at once, organize food for easy access, and quickly close the door. Ensure doors close completely; if not, refer to the Doors section in Troubleshooting. A hot installation location (above 110°F) or a clogged condenser/back cover can also contribute; clean the condenser cover and vents with a vacuum cleaner attachment.

Why does ice from my LG icemaker have a bad taste or odor?
    • L
      Leslie SweeneySep 12, 2025
Ice from your LG icemaker can develop a bad taste or odor due to several factors. The water supply may contain minerals like sulfur; installing a water filter might help. If the icemaker was recently installed, discard the first few ice batches. Ice stored for too long can also develop off-flavors; discard old ice and make a new supply. Improperly stored food in either compartment can affect ice taste; rewrap the food. The refrigerator interior or ice storage bin might need cleaning.
