Why does the ice from my LG LRFXS3106 Refrigerator taste bad?

  If your LG Refrigerator has ice with a bad taste or odor, it could be due to minerals such as sulfur in the water supply; consider installing a water filter. If the icemaker was recently installed, ice stored for too long can develop a stale taste; throw away old ice and make a new supply. Improperly stored food in either compartment can also cause this; rewrap the food. Additionally, the interior of the refrigerator may need cleaning.

  If the doors of your LG Refrigerator are not closing correctly, it might be because food packages are blocking the door. Rearrange food containers to clear the door and door shelves. Another reason might be that the ice bin, crisper cover, pans, shelves, door bins, or baskets are out of position. Ensure that bins are pushed all the way in and that the crisper cover, pans, shelves, and baskets are in their correct positions.

  If the Refrigerator or Freezer section of your LG Refrigerator is too warm: * If the refrigerator was recently installed, allow up to 24 hours for each compartment to reach the desired temperature. * Check for blocked air vents. Locate them by sensing airflow with your hand and move any packages obstructing them. * Reduce the frequency and duration of door openings.

  If the water is not dispensing from your LG Refrigerator, consider these potential causes. If it's a new installation or the water line was recently connected, dispense 2.5 gallons of water to remove trapped air and contaminants. Ensure the dispenser panel isn't locked by pressing and holding the Lock button for three seconds. Make sure the dispenser is set to water dispensing by pressing the Water button. Check that all refrigerator doors are properly closed, as water won't dispense if any door is open. Finally, inspect the tubing connecting the refrigerator to the house supply valve for kinks; straighten or repair the line to prevent future issues.

  If your LG Refrigerator isn't cooling or has no power, check the following: ensure the refrigerator control isn't set to OFF (for some models, turn the control ON). If the refrigerator is in Demo Mode, see the FAQs section of this manual for instructions on how to disable it. If the refrigerator is in the defrost cycle, wait 30 minutes for the cycle to complete. If the refrigerator was recently installed, allow up to 24 hours to reach the desired temperature. If recently relocated, let the refrigerator stand upright for 24 hours before connecting it to power.

  Your LG Refrigerator might not be cooling or have no power for several reasons. The refrigerator control may be set to OFF; in this case, turn the control ON. Refer to the Setting the Controls section for proper temperature settings. Alternatively, the refrigerator could be set to Demo Mode, which disables cooling. See the FAQs section of this manual for instructions on how to disable Demo Mode. Also, it may take up to 24 hours for each compartment to reach the desired temperature. If the refrigerator was stored for a long period of time or moved on its side, it is necessary for the refrigerator to stand upright for 24 hours before connecting it to power. Wait 30 minutes and confirm the proper temperature has been restored once the defrost cycle has completed.

  If the water is dispensing slowly from your LG Refrigerator, it could be due to several reasons. The water filter may be exhausted and need replacing, which is recommended approximately every six months, when the water filter indicator turns on, when the water dispenser output decreases, or when the ice cubes are smaller than normal. If a reverse osmosis filtration system is used, and the problem persists, it may be necessary to contact a plumber. Low house water supply pressure can also cause slow dispensing; if this is the case, it may be necessary to contact a plumber.

  If your LG Refrigerator is powered on and the controls are working, but it’s not cooling and the display shows “OFF”, when activated, OFF is displayed on the control panel and the display remains on for 20 seconds. With either refrigerator door opened, press the Ice Plus button 3 times consecutively while pressing the Refrigerator button.

  Your LG Refrigerator icemaker may not be making enough ice because: * Demand exceeds ice production capacity. Refer to the Automatic Icemaker section for ice production capacity to check the amount of ice produced in a 24 hour period. * The house water supply is not connected, the valve is not turned on fully, or the valve is clogged. Connect the refrigerator to a cold water supply with adequate pressure and turn the water shutoff valve fully open. * The water filter has been exhausted. It is recommended to replace the water filter approximately every six months. * There is low house water supply pressure. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to contact a plumber.
