Overview

This document is an owner's manual for an LG Refrigerator, model numbers GL-T322, GL-T302, and GL-T292. It provides comprehensive information on the appliance's identification, safety, installation, features, operation, maintenance, and warranty.

Function Description:

The LG Refrigerator is designed for household and similar applications, including staff kitchen areas, farmhouses, hotels, motels, bed and breakfast environments, and catering. Its primary function is to store fresh and frozen foods, maintaining optimal temperatures to preserve their taste and nutrients. Key features include automatic defrosting, temperature control for both refrigerator and freezer compartments, and specialized storage solutions like the Cell Fresh Crisper and Egg-cum-Ice Tray. The refrigerator also incorporates a Smart Diagnosis function for efficient troubleshooting and a Door Alarm to alert users if the door is left open.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Refrigerant: The appliance uses either R134a or R600a refrigerant. R600a is a natural gas with high environmental compatibility but is combustible, requiring careful handling during transport and installation to prevent damage to the refrigerating circuit.
  • Blowing Agent: Cyclopentane, a highly flammable liquid and vapor, is used as a blowing agent.
  • Power Supply: For optimal performance and to extend the refrigerator's life, a Voltage Stabilizer (0.5kVA) is recommended if power fluctuations are frequent or outside the specified voltage range (100-290V/135-290V). For Inverter compressor models, the specified voltage range is 100-290V/135-290V.
  • Smart Connect Feature (Optional): Requires a UPS/Inverter in ON condition with a minimum 600 VA capacity and a 120Ah capacity battery connected to the refrigerator's power supply socket.
  • LED Lamp: The product applies an LED lamp that cannot be replaced by the user; replacement requires contacting an authorized service center.

Usage Features:

  • Temperature Control: Both refrigerator and freezer compartment temperatures are controlled via a display button. Initial setting is typically at "3" level. The manual provides guidance for adjusting settings based on ambient room temperature and desired cooling levels (e.g., colder settings for room temperatures above 35°C, warmer settings for temperatures below 10°C).
  • Dual Fridge Mode: Pressing and holding the Dual Fridge button for 3 seconds converts the freezer room into a fridge room, with the Dual Fridge display turning ON and the freezer display turning OFF. When using this mode for vegetables, it's recommended to store them in plastic containers or boxes.
  • Super Chill Mode: Activating this feature by pressing the Super Chill button for 3 seconds accelerates the cooling rate of the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  • Defrosting: Defrosting occurs automatically, with defrosted water flowing to an evaporating tray at the lower back of the refrigerator, where it evaporates automatically.
  • Locking/Unlocking (Optional): The refrigerator can be locked or unlocked by pressing and turning a key in the lock mechanism.
  • Deodorizer (Optional): Located in the cooling air path, it uses a catalyst to remove unpleasant food odors without harming food. If the odor is strong, the deodorizer can be revived by separating it from the compartment, using a hair dryer to remove moisture, and oxidizing it under sunlight.
  • Door Cooling (Optional): A cool air vent in the refrigerator compartment provides cool air to the door shelves.
  • Door Alarm (Optional): An alarm sounds if the refrigerator door is left open for 1 minute.
  • Cell Fresh Crisper: Designed to keep vegetables fresh by maintaining moisture and preventing spoilage.
  • Humidity Controller: Controls humidity inside the vegetable box.
  • Egg-cum-Ice Tray: Used for storing eggs in an upright position to maintain freshness, and can also be used for making ice.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: The appliance should be cleaned using a dry and soft cloth. Avoid using rough brushes, toothpaste, or flammable materials (e.g., alcohol, thinner, bleach, benzene) as they can cause discoloration or damage.
  • Food Storage:
    • Cover moist food with vinyl wrap or store it in lidded containers to prevent moisture evaporation and preserve taste/nutrients.
    • Avoid placing hot milk or food in the refrigerator as it increases temperature and power consumption.
    • Do not overload the refrigerator or cover shelves with paper/plastic sheets, as this reduces efficiency.
    • Close the door properly to ensure no gap between the gasket and cabinet.
    • Wipe excessive moisture from food or place it in containers/plastic bags.
    • Do not store foods that spoil easily at low temperatures (e.g., bananas, pineapples).
    • Do not store glass bottles in the freezer compartment as they may break when frozen.
    • Store moist food (especially vegetables and fruits) in the vegetable storage compartment. If stored on a shelf, place it close to the door, away from the back wall, to prevent freezing.
    • Store fresh eggs upright in their storage tray.
  • Vacations: For average length vacations, leave the refrigerator running and place freezable items in the freezer. For extended periods, remove all food, disconnect power, clean the interior thoroughly, and leave doors open to prevent odor. Allow 6-8 hours for stabilization before operating again.
  • Shifting: When moving the refrigerator, two people should carry it for safety. Fasten the door with tape or a lock to prevent it from opening.

Safety Information:
