cuit board:

- Reset the DIP switches (see
loco instructions).
All other locomotives
- Connect decoder according to
the wiring diagram (Fig. 1).
Attention! For some locos with-
out decoder interfaces (especially
locos with sound or special func-
tions), additional components are
necessary. Decoders should be
factory-installed in these locomo-
tives.
HOW THE
MTS DECODER WORKS
The MTS Decoder receives com-
mands from the MTS Central Sta-
tion and operates the loco
accordingly. In addition to motor
terminals, the decoder has termi-
nals for directional lighting and
one additional function (Fig. 1).
Hints:
- Locos with decoders can oper-
ate on conventional analog lay-
outs without modifications.
- If you program CV 54 to 1 (see
Programming the functions),
you can adjust the MTS throttle
to the direction and speed of the
new loco within two seconds
after selecting the address of a
moving loco. Otherwise, the loco
stops when the first command is
sent.
PROGRAMMING THE
MTS DECODER
Program the MTS decoder to the
desired loco address. If desired,
additional functions of the
decoder can be programmed as
well.
Programming the loco address
(factory pre-set: 03):
You can program the loco
address using various MTS throt-
tles or the 55045 MTS PC
Decoder Programming Module.
For more information, see the
instructions for the respective
MTS components and for the
MTS Central Station.
Hint: When programming with the
55015 Universal Remote, pro-
gram loco address 00 as address
23.
Programming functions
You can program functions of the
MTS Decoder using the 55015
Universal Remote or the 55045
MTS PC Decoder Programming
Module.
Attention! The following pro-
grammable functions are
designed for advanced MTS
users. For normal operation, it is
not necessary to change the
function settings.
Hint: To reprogram the factory
pre-set values of the decoder,
input 6, then 55 and execute the
programming (right arrow button
with 55015), then input 5, then 55
and execute the programming
(see register CV 55).
General programming
procedure:
- In register 6, input the number of
the register you want to pro-
gram.
- Then input the desired function
value in register 5.
- You can program the following
registers:
Register Function Available Factory
values pre-set
CV 1 loco address (00..22) [3]
CV 2 starting voltage (0..255) [3]
voltage for speed setting 1
CV 3 acceleration (0..255) [3]

one speed step (1/128)) (A complete
sequence from 0 to max. speed takes
between 0.3 seconds (1) and 72 seconds
