  If the console isn't turning on when you pedal, it could be due to the following reasons: * The batteries may be dead. Try replacing the batteries with two standard 1.5V alkaline D-Cell batteries. * There might be a bad connection between the console and the gear module board, the magnet in the flywheel may have fallen out (replace the magnet), or there could be a faulty circuit board in the bike base. The console will only turn on after an RPM is detected.

  If you're experiencing very low or no resistance, even when adjusting the resistance lever, it could be due to: * An improper cable path around the "Cam-Pulley". Ensure the cable wraps around the Cam-Pulley properly and is fully seated in the Cam-Pulley groove. * The mechanical cable may have slipped out of the clamp. You should mechanically calibrate the magnetic brake assembly and fully tighten the cable clamp screw.

Why is no heart rate showing on my LifeFitness LifeCycle GX Exercise Bike console with chest strap?

  If you are not seeing a heart rate on the console while wearing a chest strap, the issue could be due to several reasons: * The chest strap sensors may not be making good contact with your body. Try adjusting the strap and moistening the sensors. * You might be out of monitoring range. Move within 3 feet (1 meter) of the heart rate board. Note that RF interference or a low battery can reduce the signal distance. * The battery in the chest strap may need to be replaced. Consult the chest strap’s instruction manual for directions.

  If you're seeing a heart rate displayed even without wearing a chest strap, it's likely due to: * RF interference from personal electronic devices or other equipment nearby. Try removing the source of noise or repositioning the exercise equipment. * Another nearby user is wearing a chest strap. Try moving the other user further away from your bike.

Why does the LifeFitness Exercise Bike console turn off after turning on during assembly?

  If the console turns on when attached but then turns off, it may be due to: * The bike is not being pedaled. The console needs to detect an RPM from the bike, or it will turn off after 5 minutes. * The console is not receiving a signal from the reed switch board. This could indicate a bad connection between the console and gear module board, a missing magnet in the flywheel (replace the magnet), or a faulty circuit board in the bike base.

  Black dust near the back stabilizer is usually caused by the drive belt rubbing against the magnetic brake assembly due to improper installation. Re-install the drive belt so that the lower half of the drive belt sits on top of the idler.

Why does the resistance lever move while riding my LifeFitness Exercise Bike?

  If the resistance lever doesn’t stay in place and gradually moves up, the screws that clamp the “friction washer” inside of the resistance lever are likely loose. Tighten the male-female screws that hold the resistance level housing together to 5Nm (3.7ft-lbs.). Add 242 Loctite if needed.
