Overview

This document provides installation, operating, and servicing instructions for the Lincat EB3FX/HC/PB water boiler and chiller. It is an essential guide for qualified personnel responsible for the appliance.

Function Description:

The Lincat EB3FX/HC/PB is a combined water boiler and chiller designed for indoor use. It provides both hot and cold potable water on demand. The unit features a touchscreen display for operation and status monitoring, with separate dispense buttons and spouts for hot and cold water. It is designed to be installed on a solid counter or shelf, requiring adequate ventilation with a minimum 50mm gap around the unit. The appliance is supplied with a 13 amp plug to BS1363 and requires a mains water supply connection.

Usage Features:

  • First Use: After installation, switch on the electricity and allow 30 minutes for the boiler to fill and heat. There is a 2-minute delay for the chiller to activate after power-on or interruption. The unit displays "Wait" during filling/heating/cooling and "Ready" when water can be dispensed.
  • Touchscreen Display: The display provides various information and controls:
    • Power button (1): Toggles between On, Off, Timed, and ECO modes.
    • Timed operation (2): Accesses timer settings.
    • Clock (3): Accesses clock settings.
    • Hot status (4) & Cold status (5): Displays status screens.
    • Status (6 & 7): Indicates "Cold-ready to use/wait" and "Hot-ready to use/wait."
    • Chiller module (8): Indicates power to the chiller module.
    • Water in (9): Indicates hot tank water filling.
    • Fault (10): Displays various fault codes (F03-F11) related to power board, sensors, heating, thermistor, water supply, and chiller condenser.
    • Element (11): Indicates the heating element is ON.
    • Filter (12): Shows filter life status.
  • Dispensing: Separate buttons (3 for cold, 5 for hot) and spouts (4 for cold, 6 for hot) are provided.
  • Settings: Temperature adjustment, clock settings, and boiler descale initiation are accessed by pressing "Ready" and selecting the option. A PIN lock protects settings, with the master PIN available from Lincat Service.
  • Filter Replacement: The display shows estimated filter life and a reminder message when replacement is needed. To replace, twist the filter base 90 degrees left, remove the cartridge, insert a genuine Lincat filter, twist right to lock, and reset the filter life via the "Filter life icon" on the touchscreen. The boiler will not fill if the filter is removed due to an integrated shut-off valve in the filter head. After replacement, drain approximately 5 litres of water to remove carbon particles.
  • Fault Codes: The unit provides specific fault codes to aid in troubleshooting, such as F10 (Chiller condenser over heat) and F11 (Chiller - clean condenser).

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning:
    • Do not use a water jet or steam cleaner, and do not immerse the appliance.
    • Clean all panels with warm water and mild detergent; avoid abrasive materials. Dry with a soft cloth.
    • Regularly slide out and empty the drip tray (14).
    • Wipe dispensing tap spouts daily to remove limescale.
  • Descaling:
    • Descaling is a critical maintenance task for warranty validity and to prevent overfilling/leaking.
    • Lincat offers a purpose-designed descaler powder (part number DP10).
  • Servicing and Component Replacement:
    • All maintenance and component replacement should be carried out by Lincat-recommended service engineers.
    • Maintenance of the refrigeration unit (containing R134a) must be performed by an accredited service provider or qualified refrigeration engineer.
  • Spare Parts: A list of common spare parts is provided, including control/display board (PR111), auxiliary power board (PR101), power board (PR100), various thermistors and cut-outs (TH88, TH123, TH124, TH126), cables (WL13, CA179, CA207), and the chiller module (EBCM01). Contact the Lincat Spares department (01522-875510) with the model and serial number for assistance.
  • Accessories: Available accessories include a wall bracket (BR57) and descaler powder (DP10).
  • Warranty: The unit carries a comprehensive UK mainland 2-year warranty, contingent on proper maintenance and care. The warranty does not cover accidental damage, misuse, consumable items, incorrect installation, unauthorised service, or damage due to scale/debris build-up.
