A Attach the Bridge’s antenna.
B Plug the included Ethernet
network cable into the LAN port
on the back panel of the
Bridge.
C The X-II (MDI/MDI-X) slide switch
offers a choice between two
settings. Slide the X-II switch to
the X position if you are
connecting the Bridge to a
PC’s network adapter. Slide the
X-II switch to the II position if
you are connecting the Bridge
to a hub or switch.
D Plug the other end of the
Ethernet network cable into the
RJ-45 port of the hub, switch,
or PC you wish to use to
configure the Bridge.
E Plug the supplied power
adapter into the Power port on
the back panel of the Bridge.
Then plug the other end into
an electrical outlet.

Setting up the Wireless-B
A Insert the Setup CD-ROM into
your PC’s CD-ROM drive. The
Setup Utility should run
automatically, and the
Welcome screen should
appear. If it does not appear,
click the Start button and
choose Run. In the field that
appears, enter D:\setup.exe (if
“D” is the letter of your CD-ROM
drive).
B Click Setup to begin the setup
process.
C Make sure the Bridge is
correctly connected to your
wired network. Click Next.
D The screen displays a list of
Wireless-B Ethernet Bridges on
your network, along with their
status information. Select the
Bridge you are currently
installing by clicking its name in
the Selection box. Click Yes.
E The Password screen will
appear. In lowercase letters,
enter admin in the Password
field. Then click Enter.

Attach the Bridge's Antenna

Attach the Wireless-B Ethernet Bridge's antenna.

Connect Ethernet Cable to Bridge

Plug the included Ethernet network cable into the LAN port on the Bridge.

Configure X-II Slide Switch

Set the X-II switch to X for PC or II for hub/switch connection.

Connect Cable to Network Device

Plug the other Ethernet cable end into a hub, switch, or PC.

Connect Power Adapter

Setting Up the Wireless-B Ethernet Bridge

Insert Setup CD-ROM

Insert the Setup CD-ROM into your PC's CD-ROM drive to begin.

Start Setup Process

Click 'Setup' on the Welcome screen to start the setup.

Confirm Network Connection

Ensure the Bridge is correctly connected to your wired network.

Select Bridge from Network List

Select your Bridge from the list displayed on the screen.

Enter Default Password

Enter 'admin' in the Password field when prompted.

Configure Wireless Mode

Select Infrastructure or Ad-Hoc mode for wireless communication.

Set Wireless Network Name (SSID)

Enter a unique name for the Bridge and select the wireless channel.

Configure IP Settings

Choose automatic IP assignment (DHCP) or manual IP configuration.

Manually Assign IP Address

Enter IP Address, IP Mask, and Gateway if setting manually.

Configure Security Settings

Set WEP encryption level, Passphrase, or WEP key.

Review and Confirm Settings

Review all configured settings and confirm to save them.

Complete Setup

Click 'Exit' on the Congratulations screen to finish.

Connecting the Wireless-B Ethernet Bridge for Network Use

Disconnect from Configuration PC

Unplug the power adapter and Ethernet cable from the PC.

Connect to Network Device

Plug the Ethernet cable into the RJ-45 port of the network device.

Power On the Bridge

Plug the power adapter into a local electrical outlet.
