Klimax DSM Quick Start
Thank you for purchasing the Linn Klimax DSM player. This guide provides
basic unpacking and connecting information to get you started - contact
your Linn Specialist for full installation support.
Unpacking
• Remove product from packaging and place on a flat surface
• Please retain all packaging for future transport of Klimax DSM
Contents
• 1 x Klimax DSM player
• 1 x mains lead
• 1 x slimline infra-red (IR) handset (with 2 x CR2032 batteries)
• 1 x pair of Linn Silver interconnect cables (Not included with Klimax DSM Hub)
Positioning
• Place unit on a flat, stable and rigid surface
• Place unit within range of your network router or switch
• IMPORTANT:
Linn recommends the use of separate dedicated network components, including
router, switch and wireless access point (if required for wireless control).
Alternatively, a dedicated integrated router/switch/wireless device is preferable to
simply connecting the unit directly to your home broadband router.
• Avoid positioning the unit in direct sunlight as this can interfere with the infra-red
(IR) sensor on the front panel
• Do not stack components and avoid placing near other heat sources.
• Allow space all the way around the unit for air circulation
Connecting
1. Before making any connections, switch off any power amplifier(s) or
mains-powered speakers in your system
2. If you are connecting your Klimax DSM to a power amplifier, then make the
connection from Klimax DSM to power amplifier(s) using either the left and right
Analogue Out (cables supplied) or Balanced Out sockets:

3. Connect the Klimax DSM Ethernet socket to your network using a standard Ethernet
cable or use Fibre Ethernet cable for optical ethernet.
4. If you have any external sources you wish to connect to your Klimax DSM, such as a
Blu-ray, DVD player or satellite TV… connect these to the appropriate analogue,
HDMI, SPDIF or TOSLINK IN socket.
• If connecting HDMI video sources to your Klimax DSM, you
must also connect an HDMI cable from HDMI OUT back to your
display device to ensure video is displayed (audio will also be
automatically passed through to your display source if the
Klimax DSM is in Sleep mode)
5. Connect your mains cable but do not power on the unit yet.
6. If you have a NAS, ensure this is connected to your network and
powered on

Setup Process

Add Klimax DSM to Network

Connect the Klimax DSM to your network and power it on. The control dial will show a shimmering pattern.

Add Network Control & Setup

Install Kazoo app, detect DS players, select room, and sign into your Linn Account to add the Klimax DSM.

Run Manage Systems

Open a web browser, log into your Linn Account, and configure the Klimax DSM, including naming rooms.

Play Music

Use the Kazoo App or control dial to bring the unit out of standby, adjust volume, and select sources.
