Overview

This document is an instruction manual for a LIVOO charcoal barbecue with a wood finish, identified by reference DOC244, version 1.4, in English.

Function Description:

The LIVOO charcoal barbecue is designed for outdoor domestic use to cook food using charcoal. It features a cooking grid, a fire bowl for charcoal, and a wood finish for aesthetic appeal. The appliance is intended for grilling and barbecuing various foods.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Fuel Type: Charcoal only.
  • Maximum Charcoal Capacity: 1.5 kg.
  • Installation: Must be installed on a stable, horizontal support before use.
  • Safety Compliance: Firelighters used must comply with EN 1860-3.
  • Material: Features metal parts and a wood finish.

Usage Features:

  • Outdoor Use Only: The barbecue is strictly designed for outdoor use to prevent the build-up of toxic smoke indoors, which can cause serious injury or death.
  • Pre-heating: Before the first cooking, the barbecue must be heated, and the fire kept incandescent for at least 30 minutes. Cooking should not begin until the fuel has a coating of ash.
  • Charcoal Placement: Charcoal should always be placed on top of the charcoal (lower) grate, not directly in the bottom of the bowl. The fire bowl should not be filled above the level of the cooking grid.
  • Lighting: Do not use spirit or petrol for lighting or relighting. Only use firelighters complying with EN 1860-3. If using a liquid fire starter, ensure any liquid that may have flowed through the bottom ventilation holes is removed before lighting.
  • Stability: The barbecue must be installed on a stable horizontal support.
  • Safety Distances: Do not use the barbecue within 50 meters of combustible materials, including wood or treated wooden decks, patios, or verandas. It should not be used in confined or habitable spaces such as houses, tents, caravans, campers, or boats, due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
  • Operation: Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use. Do not move the barbecue when it is operating and hot. Do not use the grill during strong winds.
  • Accessories: Keep accessories cool and store them away before cleaning.
  • Clothing: Avoid wearing clothing with large, floating sleeves when lighting and using the barbecue.
  • Ash Management: Do not remove ashes until the charcoal has fully burned and is completely extinguished. Ensure the ash pan is properly secured to the feet under the barbecue tank.
  • Flare-ups: Do not use water to control flare-ups or to extinguish charcoal.
  • Heat Resistance: Use heat-resistant barbecue mitts or gloves while cooking and proper tools with long, heat-resistant handles.
  • Food Safety: It is essential to keep the appliance clean at all times as it comes into direct contact with food. When grilling food with high fat or moisture content, splashes are unavoidable, and such food may tend to ignite or splash. Do not cover the grill rack with aluminum foil, barbecue dishes, or other items, as this can cause irreparable damage due to heat build-up.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the barbecue during operation.
  • Electrical Wires: Keep electrical wires and cords away from hot surfaces and high-traffic areas.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: The barbecue should be thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis. Before first use, clean with a soft damp cloth. For cleaning surfaces in contact with food, refer to the relevant paragraph in the manual.
  • Cooling: Allow the barbecue to cool completely before cleaning or storing.
  • Abrasive Cleaners: Never use abrasive cleaners on the cooking grates or the barbecue itself, as this will damage the finish.
  • Water on Hot Surfaces: Do not use water on the barbecue while it is hot, as this will damage the finish.
  • Immersion: Never immerse the barbecue in water.
  • Storage: Do not store the grill until ashes and charcoal are fully extinguished.

The manual also includes an exploded view and assembly instructions, emphasizing the importance of following the steps in sequence, checking all parts, and reporting any missing components. Spare parts are listed with their quantities. The manufacturer reserves the right to make modifications without advance notice.
