Overview

This document describes a 2-person raclette grill, an appliance designed for personal, indoor use, allowing individuals to cook and melt cheese at their table. The device is intended for household and similar applications, such as staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other working environments, farmhouses, by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential-type environments, and bed and breakfast environments. It is not designed for continuous professional use and should be stopped temporarily during operation.

Before its initial use, it is crucial to remove all packaging materials, ensuring they are kept out of reach of children. The cooking plate and the accompanying pans should be thoroughly cleaned with soapy water and wiped with a soft cloth. To prepare the appliance, it should be preheated for 15 minutes without any food. During this initial preheating, a slight amount of smoke may be produced, which is considered normal; however, it is important to ensure the room is well ventilated. The raclette grill must always be placed on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface to prevent tipping or damage. It should never be placed directly on fragile surfaces like glass tables, cloth, plastic tablecloths, or varnished furniture. Additionally, no aluminum foil or other objects should be placed under the stone or hob, or between the reflector and the heating element.

To operate the appliance, the power cable should be carefully unwound and plugged into a suitable socket. If the appliance features an ON/OFF button or a thermostat, it should be switched on. After allowing the appliance to preheat for 15 minutes, if it is equipped with a thermostat, the temperature can be adjusted as desired by turning the knob from Max to Min. Once cooking is complete, or when the appliance is no longer needed, the thermostat should be turned to the Min position, or the switch should be set to OFF (depending on the model) to turn off the appliance. The cord must then be unplugged from the mains, and the appliance should be allowed to cool for approximately 1 hour before being moved or cleaned.

Several important usage guidelines must be followed to ensure safety and proper functioning. The appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in or in operation. It is essential not to leave empty pans in the appliance while it is on. Food should not be cut directly on the cooking plate to avoid damaging its coating. To protect the cooktop coating, only plastic or wooden spatulas should be used. The appliance is not intended to be operated by an external timer or a separate remote control system. It should never be used outdoors or left in a place exposed to bad weather and humidity.

Safety is paramount when using this appliance. Users must take time to read the instructions thoroughly before the first use. Misuse can damage the appliance or injure the user. The appliance is designed for a specific use, and the manufacturer disclaims responsibility for damages resulting from incorrect use or bad manipulation. The safety instructions provided do not completely eliminate all dangers, and proper accident prevention measures must always be employed. The appliance should be placed on a flat, dry, and stable surface. It must never be used if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped, damaged, or if it has been immersed in water; in such cases, it should be taken to a service center for inspection and repair. Users should never attempt to dismantle the appliance themselves, as there is a risk of injury if the appliance is misused. The appliance should not be covered during use and must not be moved while in use or when it is hot.

This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or those lacking experience and knowledge, provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning its safe use and understand the associated hazards. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised. The appliance and its cord must be kept out of reach of children younger than 8 years. Contact with hot surfaces or heat sources, such as hotplates, near hot gas, or on a hot oven, should be avoided. A caution is issued regarding the high temperature of accessible surfaces when the appliance is operating, and it remains very hot after use. It must always be allowed to cool down before storing or cleaning. The base of the appliance should never be immersed in water or any other liquid for any reason, and water must not enter the base. The product should never be used with wet hands or feet. Before connecting the appliance, users must ensure that the voltage in their home matches the voltage indicated on the appliance's nameplate. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.

When unplugging the appliance, users should not pull on the power cord or the unit itself. The cord should not be allowed to hang over the table or counter or touch a hot surface. The socket must always remain accessible when the appliance is plugged in. If an extension cord is used, it must have a built-in earth connection and be capable of withstanding the power of the appliance, and care must be taken to ensure no one is trapped by it. The appliance must be kept clean at all times, as it comes into direct contact with food. Any accessories not recommended by the manufacturer should not be used, as they may damage the appliance.

Maintenance and cleaning should only be performed when the appliance is unplugged and completely cool. It is crucial to clean the appliance after each use to prevent the accumulation of cooked and annealed food. The accessories and the cooking plate should be cleaned in hot soapy water using a non-abrasive sponge or nylon brush. The appliance should not be placed in a dishwasher. The body of the appliance can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. The heating element cannot be cleaned; if it is very dirty, it should be allowed to cool completely and then wiped with a dry cloth. For cleaning surfaces that come into contact with food, refer to the "cleaning" paragraph in the manual. The appliance should always be unplugged in case of malfunction, after use, or before cleaning. The manual should be kept with the appliance and provided to any third party who uses it. The appliance should only be used for private purposes and in the manner indicated in the instruction manual. Finally, the appliance should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from moisture or the elements.
