This document serves as an instruction manual for a LIVOO 3-burner gas plancha, designed for outdoor use. It provides comprehensive guidance on the safe operation, assembly, and maintenance of the appliance, emphasizing user safety and product longevity.
The primary function of this device is to provide an outdoor cooking solution using gas burners, specifically designed for plancha-style cooking. It is intended for private use only, not for events or public places, and must be used outdoors in a well-ventilated area, away from flammable materials.
The plancha is designed for ease of use, with clear instructions for ignition and temperature control. Before initial use, it is crucial to assemble the barbecue carefully according to the provided diagrams and ensure all parts are correctly in place. A leak test must be performed annually, and whenever the gas cylinder is changed or disconnected, to verify the integrity of gas hose connections. This test involves applying a soapy water solution to all gas connections; the appearance of bubbles indicates a leak that must be rectified before use.
The appliance operates with low-pressure butane, propane, or their mixture gas, requiring an appropriate low-pressure regulator and a flexible hose. Users must ensure that the regulator is correctly set to allow proper gas flow to the burners, preventing insufficient power or irregular lighting. The gas cylinder should always be placed outside the appliance during use and stored upright in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, flames, or other ignition sources. It is critical never to connect the appliance to town gas (natural gas), as the gas circuit is exclusively designed for butane/propane.
For ignition, users must first turn all control knobs to the 'OFF' position, then turn 'ON' the gas supply at the cylinder or regulator switch. To light a burner, push down and turn the knob, simultaneously pressing the red ignition button. An audible click should be heard, and the burner should light. If a burner fails to ignite after two attempts, the gas tap should be turned 'OFF', and a five-minute waiting period is required before retrying the ignition sequence. Once a burner is lit, its rate can be adjusted by turning the knob anticlockwise to any position between full and low. Remaining burners can then be lit in sequence from left to right. To switch off the plancha, the gas inlet should be cut by turning the valve or regulator button to "Stop," and all burner buttons should be turned to the "Stop" (off) position.
During cooking, it is important to use appropriate heat-resistant barbecue utensils and wear protective gloves, as accessible parts can become very hot. The cooking grate should not be covered with foil, dishes, or containers, as this can lead to heat build-up. If the appliance has a lid, caution is advised when opening it due to potential hot steam release. Cooking with the lid down while valves are on high heat should be avoided to prevent damage to the appliance. The burners should always be in the low position during cooking to prevent flames caused by dripping grease and juice.
The appliance should not be moved during use, and if a gas smell is detected, the gas supply must be turned off immediately, any open flames extinguished, and if the smell persists, the appliance should be moved away, and the dealer or fire brigade contacted. A gas leak can lead to fire or explosion, resulting in serious injury or property damage.
Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential for the safe and efficient operation of the plancha. All cleaning and maintenance should be performed when the barbecue is cool and the fuel supply is turned off at the gas cylinder. It is recommended that the gas grill be serviced annually by a competent engineer.
After each use, the barbecue and its accessories should be allowed to cool completely before cleaning and storing. The grease trap should be emptied and cleaned after each use to prevent the accumulation of highly flammable and toxic grease deposits. It is recommended to empty ashes 24 hours after using the barbecue.
For cleaning the outside surface, a mild detergent or baking soda and hot water solution can be used. Stubborn stains may require a non-abrasive scouring powder, followed by rinsing with water. If the inside surface of the barbecue lid shows peeling paint, this indicates baked-on grease that has carbonized and flaked off; it should be cleaned thoroughly with strong hot soapy water, rinsed, and allowed to dry completely. Oven cleaner should never be used.
The interior of the barbecue bottom should be cleaned by removing residue with a brush, scraper, or cleaning pad, then washing with a soapy water solution, rinsing, and drying. Plastic surfaces should be washed with a soft cloth and hot soapy water solution, rinsed, and dried. Abrasive cleaners, degreasers, or concentrated barbecue cleaner should not be used on plastic parts. The cooking plate can be cleaned with a mild soapy water solution, and non-abrasive scouring powder can be used for stubborn stains, followed by rinsing.
The grease tray should not be opened during use and should be cleaned when full, or at least when 1/3 full. For burner assembly cleaning, the gas should be turned off at the control knob, and the cylinder disconnected. The cooling grate should be removed, and the burner cleaned with a soft brush or compressed air, then wiped with a cloth. Any clogged ports should be cleaned with a pipe cleaner or stiff wire.
The gas supply hose should be inspected before each use for nicks, cracks, or signs of severe wear and replaced if necessary. The life expectancy of the regulator is estimated at 10 years, and it is recommended to change it within this period. Storing the appliance in a dry, dust-free environment and protecting it with a cover if left outdoors in fine weather will help prevent rust and deterioration.
