Handling the Battery
• Improperorincorrectuseofbatteriesmaycausecorrosionorbatteryleakage,
whichcouldcausere,personalinjuryordamagetoproperty.
• Installthebatterycorrectlyinthebatterycompartment.Normallythebattery’s
positivepolarity(+)willfaceup.
• Whenthebatteryisexhausted,theunitwillnotfunction.
• Onlyusethebatterytypeindicatedinthismanual.
• Donotdisposeoftheusedbatteryasdomesticwaste.Disposeofitinaccordance
withlocalregulations.
• Smallbuttoncellbatteriessuchastheoneusedintheunitareeasilyswallowed
byyoungchildrenandthisisdangerous.Keeploosebuttoncellsawayfromyoung
childrenandmakesurethatthebatteryissecureintheunit.Seekmedicaladviceif
youbelieveabatterycellhasbeenswallowed.
• Removethebatteryfromtheunitwhennotinuseforalongperiodoftime,as
corrosionorbatteryleakagemayoccurandresultinphysicalinjury,and/orproperty
damage,and/orre.
DoNOTuseanychemicalcleaningagents.

1. Cleanthesurfaceofthescalesusingadampcloth,thendrythoroughly.

TheunitrequiresaCR2032,3VLithiumbattery.
1. Pressandpulltheleveronthebackcovertoopenthe
batterycompartmentoftheunit.
2. Replacetheoldbattery
withanewone,with
thepositivepolarity(+)
facingupward.

3. Closethebatterycompartmentcover.
2. Placethescalesonahardatsurface(donotplaceoncarpetedorsoftsurfaces).
3. Stepontothescales,placingyourbarefeetsoyourweightisdistributedevenly.
4. Waitamomentforthedisplaytoappear;itwillshowyourweight.
