CARRIER RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
There is a red rocker switch on the right side of the bottom of the battery (0 OFF,
I – ON). Turn on the battery (position I) before riding. Store the battery turned off (position 0).
The battery is secured by a key lock. The lock is on the left side. When turning the key by 180°
to the left you will open the lock, when turning the key by 180° to the right you will secure the
lock (see the illustration on the lock).
Keep your battery locked, unlock it only when there is a need to remove it. We recommend
checking the battery is locked before riding and when parking in order to avoid any damage
or theft.
If you want to remove the battery, first you need to unlock its lock (see above). You will unplug
the battery by pressing the carrier with your thumb while positioning the index, middle and ring
finger on the battery groove on the bottom part of the battery and pulling the battery
backwards. You will plug in the battery by inserting it to the dock station. Please remember to
secure the battery in the dock station by the lock (see above). Make sure the battery is inserted
to the stop, otherwise you will be unable to lock it. Insert and remove the battery from/into the
dock in a horizontal position tightly in line with the battery dock.
There is a LED charge indicator on the upper part of the battery. Push the button
for an indication. 4 diodes = the battery is charged > 80 %, 1 red diode = the battery
is charged < 20 %. Charge the battery as soon as possible if it indicates just one red diode.
The LED charge indicator operates only when the battery is on (position I). The charge status
can also be found on the display (see below).
There is a charging connector on the left side of the battery with a rubber plug. You can keep
the battery in the carrier while charging or remove the battery from the dock.
There is a button on the upper side of the battery for turning on/turning off the rear light,
which is integrated into the battery and powered by 2 AA batteries.

Overview

The LOVELEC+ LUGO is an electrically power-assisted bicycle (EPAC) designed for private and commercial use, featuring a continuous rated power of 0.25 kW. The electric power cuts off if the cyclist stops pedaling or if the bicycle reaches 25 km/h speed. The motor is powered by a Lithium-ion battery with a total voltage of 36 V.

Device Components and Identification

The bicycle includes several key components:

  • Control panel (①): Used to manage the e-bike's functions.
  • Rechargeable battery (②): The power source for the electric motor.
  • Battery charging connector (③): For recharging the battery.
  • Battery switch (④): To turn the battery on or off.
  • Controller (⑤): Manages the e-bike's electrical system.
  • Electric motor (⑥): Provides power assistance.
  • Motor connector (⑦): Connects the motor to the electrical system.
  • PAS sensor (⑧): Pedal Assist System sensor, detects pedaling activity.
  • Folding joint (⑨): Allows the bicycle to be folded for storage or transport.

Battery Description and Usage

The LUGO features a carrier-mounted rechargeable battery.

  • Power Switch: A red rocker switch on the bottom of the battery controls its power (O - OFF, I - ON). The battery should be turned on (position I) before riding and turned off (position O) when stored.
  • Security: The battery is secured by a key lock located on its left side. Turning the key 180° to the left unlocks it, while turning it 180° to the right secures it. It is recommended to keep the battery locked and only unlock it when removal is necessary. Always check that the battery is locked before riding and when parking to prevent damage or theft.
  • Removal and Installation: To remove the battery, first unlock it. Then, press the carrier with your thumb while positioning your index, middle, and ring fingers on the battery groove on the bottom, and pull the battery backward. To install, insert the battery into the dock station. Ensure it is fully inserted into the stop, otherwise, it cannot be locked. Always insert and remove the battery horizontally, tightly aligned with the dock.
  • Charging Connector: A charging connector with a rubber plug is located on the left side of the battery. The battery can be charged while in the carrier or removed from the dock.
  • Rear Light: The battery integrates a rear light, which is powered by 2 AA batteries. A dedicated button on the upper side of the battery turns this light on/off.

Battery Charge Indicator

The battery features an LED charge indicator on its upper part.

  • Activation: Push the button to display the charge status.
  • Status Indication:
    • 4 diodes: Battery is charged > 80%.
    • 1 red diode: Battery is charged < 20%.
  • Charging Recommendation: If only one red diode is indicated, charge the battery as soon as possible.
  • Operation: The LED charge indicator only operates when the battery is on (position I). The charge status can also be viewed on the display.

LED Control Panel Functions

The LED control panel, made from durable ABS plastic, allows control over the e-bike's motor and provides charge status. It should not be exposed to temperatures below -20 °C or above 60 °C.

  • Power On/Off:
    • To turn on: Press the red ON/OFF button (top, left) for a few seconds.
    • To turn off: Briefly press the red ON/OFF button (top, left).
  • Motor Assistance Level: Briefly press the green MODE button (down, left) to select the motor assistance level: LOW, MEDium, or HIGH.
  • Charge Indicator (on control panel): Located at the top right, it shows the charge level as L (LOW) or H (HIGH).
    • 4 diodes: Battery is charged > 80%.
    • 1 diode: Battery is charged < 20%.
    • Charge the battery as soon as possible if only one diode is indicated.
  • Walk Assistance (6km/h button): The white 6km/h button (in the middle) activates walk assistance, which helps control the e-bike when pushing it (e.g., uphill).
    • Activation: Pressing the "6km/h" button activates assistance, moving the e-bike at 4-6 km/h.
    • Deactivation: Releasing the "6km/h" button deactivates assistance.
    • Important Note: This function is only for controlling the e-bike while pushing it, not for setting off or riding.
  • Automatic Deactivation: The LED control panel will deactivate automatically after approximately 5 minutes of inactivity.
