Perform Overall Visual Inspection of
LGX
®
Fiber Optic Distributing Frame (FTTH)
1. At front of
LGX
lightguide distribution frame verify that:
Duct doors have been installed on frame flanges and doors operate prop-
erly.
Termination and identification shelves are tightly secured and free of
defects or damage.
Connector panels in termination and identification shelves are securely
attached and are equipped with full complement of couplers.
Lightguide interconnect cables (LICs) are routed through jumper retainers
located on both sides of frame.
ST
®
lightguide cable connectors on LIC fibers are securely attached to
proper couplers on termination and identification shelves (per work order).
2. Verify that each fiber distribution cable is attached securely to the 12A1 cable
clamps located on side of each shelf.
3. Verify that metal sheath on each distribution cable is properly grounded at
12A1 cable clamps.
4. Lower top of connector panel in each shelf and verify that each distribution
fiber is terminated with an
ST
lightguide connector and that both ends of all
unused optical couplings are equipped with protector plugs.
5. Verify that any unused LIC fibers are routed and stored in identification
shelves.
6. Verify that frame ground wire has been securely attached between frame aisle
ground lead and mounting flange on frame (Figure 1).
7. Verify that ground wire assembly between 12A1 cable clamps and bay frame
is present and securely fastened (Figure 2).
STOP. YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
