Logical Progression
One of the most common conversions is FPA or FPC to integrated FPB mode 1
during an office cutover. All that is needed is to first convert the system to
FPC-AutoCut and the RT will automatically change to FPB mode 1 when the office
cutover happens. But if the final configuration is FBP Mode 2, you should first convert
to FPC-AutoCut with the appropriate common units at the RT. Then when the cutover
starts, all that is needed at the RT is to change ADU options and pull two LIU packs.
When converting FPD to FPB Mode 2, you can save provisioning data (groomed to
the right four channel unit slots for each digroup using the CIU provisioning copy
command) by first converting the system to FPC (changing ADU options at both
ends), and then to FPC-AutoCut (changing RT ADU and BCU packs). After the
provisioning data has been down loaded to the RT ADU and BCU (ignore DIGROUP
alarms), change the RT ADU option to Mode 2, and connect the digital lines to the
Mode 2 central office equipment or convert the COT to FPB Mode 2 COT.
