Cleaning the machine
Remove any coarse dirt.
Wipe the appliance with a slightly damp cloth
Oiling the gears
Apply the grease gun to the lubricating nip-
ple(14).
Fill with enough grease that it begins to exit at
the start of the blade.
Cleaning/replacing the air filter
Set choke lever(4) to[ ] to prevent any dirt
form entering the carburettor.
Unscrew the bolts(13) and remove the air filter
cover.
Remove the air filter.
Wash the air filter in warm water (with a small
amount of detergent).
Oil the air filter slightly with motor oil.
Wipe the air filter cover on the inside; re-install
the air filter in reverse order.
Cleaning/replacing the spark plug
Pull off the ignition cable plug(15).
Unscrew the spark plug.
Check the electrode for discoloration. Standard
colour: light brown
Check the electrode separation. Correct separa-
tion: 0,6–0,7mm
Cleaning the spark plug
Remove soot deposits from the electrode with a
brass wire brush.
Replacing the spark plug
Insert the cleaned or new spark plug and screw
it in hand-tight.
After screwing it in hand-tight, use the spark
plug spanner to tighten the spark plug (no more
than a quarter turn, as you may otherwise dam-
age the thread).
Replace the ignition cable plug firmly back onto
the spark plug.
Storing, transport
Storing
Slip the protection cover over the cutting equip-
ment.
If possible, store the machine in the horizontal
position. Make sure no fuel can run out.
Store the appliance where it is dry and well ven-
tilated.
Placing the appliance out of service for an
extended period of time
For an extended period of disuse, you must remove
the fuel from the appliance.
Drain the tank
Start the motor and keep it running until it stops
of its own accord.
Let the appliance cool down completely.
Remove the spark plug.
1teaspoon of two-stroke motor oil should be fed
into the combustion chamber.
Slowly pull the starter cord several times to coat
the internal components with the oil.
Re-insert the spark plug.
Store the appliance in a dry place and far away from
any ignition sources suchas furnaces, gas heaters,
etc.
Store the machine where it is dry.
Transport
Slip the protection cover over the cutting equip-
ment.
Let the appliance cool down completely.
Drain the tank
Secure the appliance against slipping.
If shipping, use the original packaging wherever
possible.
Malfunctions and troubleshooting
In the event of a malfunction…
Minor faults are often sufficient to cause a malfunc-
tion. In most cases, you will be able to correct these
faults easily yourself. Please start by referring to the
following table before contacting our technical sup-
port. This will help you save much effort and possibly
expense.
Note: The lubricating nipple(14) is also
used to grease the gearbox.
Here, you should regrease once a season
depending on the application since the
grease can get into the centrifugal clutch
due to movement and heat in case the dos-
age is too high.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the appli-
ance! Never operate the appliance without
the air filter, otherwise damage to the motor
may occur.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the appli-
ance! When cleaning the spark plug, use
only wire brushes with brass bristles. Bris-
tles made of another material damage the
electrodes!
DANGER! Danger of injury from high
voltage! Do not touch the spark plug con-
nector or the spark plug while the motor is
running.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the appli-
ance! Screw in the spark plug only when
the motor is cold.
CAUTION! Danger of injury! Make sure
no unauthorised persons can gain access
to the appliance!
DANGER! Attention, danger of injury!
Improperly conducted repairs may prevent
your appliance from working safely. Such
repairs will endanger you and your sur-
roundings.
