How to troubleshoot a Magnum Energy Controller with no display?
The controller display is off, and all LEDs are unlit because either the battery voltage or the PV voltage is too low. Check the battery voltage at the charge controller's terminals. If the sun is shining, inspect the fuses, circuit breakers, and cable connections.
Why is the DC charge voltage higher or lower than expected on my Magnum Energy Controller?
If the Battery Temperature Sensor (BTS) is installed, the DC voltage will change depending on the temperature around the BTS. This is normal behavior.
Why is my Magnum Energy Controller charging at a low rate?
A low charging rate can occur if the display shows P03, indicating the charge controller's internal temperature is very high. The charge rate decreases to prevent the controller from shutting down. The charge rate will automatically increase once the unit cools down. Also, check for array shadows, overcast, or low sunlight, as low PV input power can cause this.
