Usage Features
Assembly and Adjustment:
- Handlebar and Stem Assembly: The handlebar is secured to the stem by loosening screws on the faceplate, removing it, setting the handlebar, and then tightening the four faceplate screws in a star pattern. The angle of the stem can be adjusted by loosening the stem bolt.
- Pedal Assembly: Pedals are marked "L" for left and "R" for right. The "R" marked pedal threads into the crank clockwise, and the "L" marked pedal threads into the crank counterclockwise. It's crucial to tighten them with a wrench.
- Seat Position: For optimal comfort and safety, the saddle and handlebar height should be adjusted to the rider's body size. The saddle height is correct when the leg is near full extension while the foot is resting flat on the pedal at the bottom of the crank cycle, allowing the toes to touch the ground comfortably.
- Saddle Height Adjustment: The quick-release lever for the saddle must be properly closed and tightened to prevent the saddle from dropping during riding, which could lead to serious falls and injury. A minimum insertion line on the seat post indicates the lowest safe insertion point. The quick release lever should be adjusted to provide considerable counter pressure when closing.
Battery and Charger:
- Battery Overview: The battery features a power button, power indicator, charging port, and battery plug.
- Charging: The battery should be charged in temperatures between 32°F (0°C) and 140°F (60°C). The charger's LED light is red during charging and turns green when fully charged. It is recommended to use the original charger or a certified replacement. Do not leave the battery charging overnight.
- Battery Removal and Installation: To remove the battery, turn the lock counterclockwise, grip firmly, and pull from the bottom. To install, insert the top of the battery into the frame first, then carefully push the bottom until it clicks securely into place. The key should be removed from the lock after installation.
Display Operation:
- Powering ON/OFF: Press and hold the power button on the display screen to turn it on or off.
- Indicators & Buttons: The display shows speed, speed units (km/h or mph), walk mode, assist level, battery level, lights indicator, ODO (odometer), Trip, and Range.
- Pedal Assist Level: Increase or decrease the pedal assist level using the arrow buttons. The assist levels do not cycle; meaning you can increase up to the top level or decrease back down to 0.
- Enter/Exit Walk Mode: Press and hold the decrease arrow button to enter walk mode. The walk mode indicator will appear on the display. Release the button to exit.
- Switching Trip, ODO, and Range: While the display is ON, press and release the power button to switch between Trip, ODO, and Range.
