The Magnum Peak T5/T7 is an electric bicycle designed for various terrains and adventures, including dirt roads, gravel paths, and backcountry exploration. It features fatter tires, front suspension forks, and hydraulic brakes, making it suitable for off-road use. The e-bike is not intended for extreme descending or aerial maneuvers over dirt features, which are typically handled by full-suspension electric mountain bikes (eMTBs).

Function Description

The Peak T5/T7 operates with pedal assist and a throttle (where permitted by local regulations), allowing riders to choose their preferred level of assistance. The display console provides essential information such as speed, trip distance, odometer readings, and battery power. The battery power is indicated by a bar indicator and percentage, with five bars representing full charge. When the battery capacity drops below 5%, the display enters a low voltage mode, disabling pedal assist and motor output. The display also features a light control function to turn the headlight on and off, dimming the backlight when the headlight is active. A "Walk Mode" is available for low-speed assistance, which can be activated by holding the "adjust down" button when the speed is below 3mph.

Usage Features

The e-bike has a maximum load capacity of 150 kilograms (330 pounds), which includes the rider's weight and any additional cargo or accessories. It is not designed to transport more than one rider. Riders are advised to familiarize themselves with the e-bike in a secure area before riding on open roads and to experiment with different pedal assist settings and the throttle to understand its performance.

The display settings allow users to customize various parameters, including unit settings (KM/H or MPH), backlight level, auto shutdown time, real-time clock, speed limitation, wheel diameter, and system voltage. These settings can be accessed by long-pressing the "M" button within 10 seconds of turning on the display.

For assembly, the Peak T5/T7 requires careful attention to instructions. Key steps include out-of-box assembly, ensuring correct torque settings for various components, battery installation, and pedal installation. Pedals are marked "L" for left and "R" for right, and it's crucial to install them on the corresponding crank arms, tightening the right-side pedal clockwise and the left-side pedal counterclockwise using a 15mm wrench.

For storage, it is recommended to separate the battery from the e-bike. The e-bike should be stored indoors in a covered environment with a temperature range between 35-70° F (2-21°C). The battery should be stored indoors at room temperature and maintained with a charge between 40-80% when not in use for extended periods. If the battery enters "sleep mode," it can be reactivated by plugging it into the approved charger until fully charged.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the e-bike's performance and safety. This includes routinely checking the bicycle's condition before every ride, ensuring all parts are secure, and inspecting for any loose components. After every 10 to 20 hours of riding, specific checks are recommended:

Brake pads: Check for wear and replace if the material is less than 1mm thick.
Cables, housing, and electrical wires: Inspect for rust, kinks, or fraying and replace damaged parts.
Tires: Check for excess wear, cuts, or damage and replace if necessary.
Wheel rims: Inspect for dents, scratches, and material bending.
Frame: Check for deep scratches, cracks, or discoloration, especially around tube joints, handlebars, stem, and seatpost, as these can indicate stress-caused fatigue.
Spoke tension: Ensure proper tension.

For cleaning, a mixture of water and a neutral cleaning solution should be used with a soft cloth or brush to wipe off dirt, dust, and grit from exposed surfaces. High-pressure water or air hoses should not be used, as they can force contaminants into bearings and electrical components.

Drivetrain maintenance involves cleaning and lubricating the chain's rollers with a good quality bicycle chain lubricant after every long or hard ride, especially if exposed to water or grit, or at least every 100 miles. Excess lubricant should be wiped off with a lint-free cloth.

The e-bike comes with a one-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for essential components like the frame, electric motor, battery, display console, and controller, provided the product was used and maintained according to instructions. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, damage due to negligence or misuse, cosmetic blemishes, improper maintenance or assembly, or non-compatible parts. It also excludes bikes used for commercial activities.
