TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
Always unplug all electrical cords before any
maintenance. Make sure Recovery and Solution
Tanks are empty and lids are tightly in place
before opening your Xtrax™ Xtractor.
PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
Uneven or no spray from
jet on upholstery or carpet
wands.
Dirty or plugged spray jets.
Spray Jet misalignment.
Worn spray jets.
Clean or replace worn jets.
Check alignment of spray jets so spray is in a
straight line.
Replace spray jets
Leaking upholstery or
carpet wand.
Quick coupler is faulty.
Leaking valve.
Hose split or loose fittings.
Quick couplers not fully
engaged.
Valve stem worn.
Replace quick coupler.
Replace valve with rebuild kit.
Replace hose or tighten fittings.
Reconnect quick coupler to insure engagement.
Replace stem.
Solution pump will not run.
Fuse blown/circuit breaker
tripped in building.
Faulty pump switch.
Loose wiring to solution
pump.
Faulty pump motor.
Pump seals damaged.
Preheat/clean switch in
preheat position
Replace fuse or reset breaker.
Replace faulty switch.
Check wiring diagram and repair the wire.
Replace the solution pump motor.
Replace pump or seals.
Put switch in clean position.
Little or no vacuum
Fuse blown/circuit breaker
tripped in building.
Faulty vacuum switch.
Waste tank drain valve
open.
Lint is clogging float shutoff
screen.
Air leak on vacuum tank lid.
The vacuum hose is loose.
Split in vacuum hose or
cuffs on hose are loose.
Faulty vacuum motor.
Vacuum hose inside base is
loose or split.
Float ball shutoff is
activated.
Check for other appliances plugged into the same
circuit. Replace fuse/reset breaker. Plug Xtrax™
into a less heavily loaded circuit.
Replace faulty switch.
Be sure drain valve is closed.
Remove Recovery Tank lid and clean screen.
Tighten Recovery Tank lid.
Reinsert cuffs firmly onto tool and onto back of
Xtrax™ Xtractor.
Replace the hose or thread cuffs securely onto
the hose.
Replace vacuum motor.
Open the empty machine and check internal
vacuum hose for tightness to base plate or check
for splits on hose.
Turn off vacuum and empty tank or turn off
vacuum and make sure solution lid is tightly in
place.
