About Your System

Controls and Features

Display

Describes the Liquid Crystal Display with backlight, showing radio frequency and other information.

Master Speaker

Provides music and intercom at the master station.

Intercom Controls

Controls that operate the intercom feature of the MC302, whether power is on or off.

Operating Controls

Preset Buttons (1-4)

Used to save and recall frequently used FM and AM radio stations.

SOURCE Button

Selects the audio source (FM, AM, AUX, TAPE) for MC302 output.

TUNE +/- Buttons

Scan up/down through FM or AM radio stations.

VOLUME +/- Buttons

Used to change the system music volume.

POWER Button

Turns the MC302 music ON and OFF.

Tuning Radio Stations

Automatic Tuning

Momentarily press TUNE +/- buttons to scan for the next strong radio station.

Manual Tuning

Press and hold TUNE +/- buttons to manually tune radio frequencies.

Using Memory Presets

Storing Radio Station Frequencies

Save radio stations by selecting band, tuning, and holding a preset button.

Recalling Radio Station Frequencies

Recall saved stations by selecting band and momentarily pressing a preset button.

Adjusting the Sound

MENU Buttons Operation

Press VOLUME buttons together to select MENU mode for sound adjustments.

Speaker Volume

Sets the level of the master unit speaker.

Music Volume

Sets the system level for music audio.

Intercom Volume

Sets the volume level for intercom communications.

Tone Controls (Bass/Treble)

Adjusts frequencies to optimize music quality by cutting or boosting.

Loudness Function

Boosts bass response at low volume levels when enabled.

Optional Hand-Held RF Remote Control

Programming Remote Control

Teaches the MC302 the unique code from the remote control transmitter.

Remote Control Operation

SOURCE Button

Selects audio source for music speakers.

Tuning UP/DOWN Buttons

Go to next preset station or change track selection for CD.

VOLUME UP/DOWN Buttons

Change system music volume and turn MC302 ON/OFF.

Room Station Features

Speaker

Provides music and intercom output and serves as intercom microphone.

Volume Knob

Adjusts intercom and music output level.

UP/ON - DOWN/OFF Buttons

Adjust music volume, turn system ON/OFF, and scan presets/tracks.

ROOM LISTEN Button

Used for listening to other rooms and the master.

ROOM TALK Button

Used for talking to other rooms and the master.

MONITOR Button (N34M only)

Allows room station to be used as a monitor input.

Operating the Intercom

Calling Other Rooms

Hold ROOM TALK button to talk to another room.

Listening to Other Rooms

Hold ROOM LISTEN button to listen to other rooms.

Hands-Free Communication

Initiate calls and follow up with ROOM LISTEN for hands-free interaction.

Communicating with the Door

Use ROOM LISTEN/TALK or DOOR TALK for door communication.

Monitoring Rooms

Monitor a room using the MONITOR button (N34M only).

Troubleshooting Tips

System Squeals

Check room station volume controls and intercom volume at MC302.

Cannot Monitor Rooms

Verify N34M station, MONITOR button pressed, and master function enabled.

Static Noise

Disable monitor function at the MC302 master unit.

Door Chime Volume

Adjust volume setting on the chime unit behind the MC302 master.

Door Chime Master Only

Turn room station volume up (clockwise).

Wireless Remote Not Operating

Replace dead transmitter batteries (CR2032).
