The MANI3000N is a Manrose Lo-Watt Manivent AC whole-house extract system, designed for continuous 24-hour mechanical extract ventilation (MEV) in multiple areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, and toilets. This unit employs a highly efficient backward curved centrifugal motor impeller set, ensuring reliable and energy-efficient operation.
Function Description:
The MANI3000N operates as a continuous extract ventilation system, maintaining air quality throughout the dwelling. It features three selectable speed settings: High, Medium, and Low. These speeds are not adjustable directly on the unit but are controlled via two Switched Live (LS) inputs. The unit typically runs at a "Normal" speed, which can be boosted to "Boost" or "Purge" speeds by an accessory input. For instance, one LS input can activate the "Boost" setting, while the other can switch the unit to "Purge" speed. This allows for flexible ventilation control based on demand, such as increased extraction in kitchens or bathrooms when in use. The system is designed to vent extracted air to the outdoors, preventing the build-up of condensation within the system by being mounted at the highest point.

Usage Features:
The MANI3000N offers versatile installation options, being mountable in three orientations within roof voids with a minimum height of 250mm:
- Base mounted: With ducting radiating out horizontally.
- Vertically mounted: With the exhaust spigot at the top. For this orientation, electrical connections must exit from the bottom of the unit to maintain the IP22 water ingress protection rating.
- Ceiling mounted.
To optimize performance and minimize noise and power consumption, the following installation guidelines are recommended:
- Keep duct runs as short as possible, especially the exhaust duct.
- Use larger diameter ducting where possible.
- Ensure flexible ducting is fully extended, not crushed, sagging, or torn.
- Minimize the use of dampers by balancing duct runs to inlets.
- Maintain a bend radius of at least 1x the duct diameter for optimal airflow.
- Avoid obstructions (bends, filters) within 250mm of the fan inlets and outlet.
- Ducting passing through unheated spaces should be insulated.
- The unit can connect to either Ø125mm or Ø100mm inlet ducting, with the exhaust always being Ø125mm.
- The fan must be earthed and supplied through a double-pole isolating switch with a contact separation of at least 3mm.
- Wiring must comply with current I.E.E. Regulations or national standards and be performed by a qualified person.
- The unit can be wired for fixed speed operation (Low, Medium, or High), or for 3-speed selection via an external switch, or for automatic switching from medium to high speed using an external sensor.
Maintenance Features:
The MANI3000N is designed for minimal maintenance. It features a self-cleaning backward curved impeller that requires no servicing. The fan is equipped with sealed-for-life bearings, eliminating the need for lubrication.
Safety Features:
- Thermal Overload Protection: The motor is fitted with Standard Thermal Overload Protection, which automatically switches the fan off in case of a fault condition. If this occurs, the unit should be isolated, checked for obstructions, allowed to cool, and then reconnected. Persistent issues require professional service.
- General Safety: The product should not be installed in areas with excessive oil/grease, corrosive/flammable gases/liquids/vapours, or ambient temperatures outside the -5°C to 40°C range. It should not be subjected to direct water spray. Precautions must be taken to prevent back-flow of gases from open flues when extracting from rooms with such appliances. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance, and the appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities without supervision.
- Electrical Safety: Always isolate the unit from the power supply during installation or maintenance. Ensure proper cable entry using a suitable grommet or cable gland.
Note on Lighting Interference: Some older fluorescent and low energy lighting products may interfere with electronic/timing circuits. For reliable timer operation, it is recommended to use post-2000 low energy bulbs or tungsten filament bulbs in the room lighting circuit.
