Other tips
– Do not warm up the engine with the
car stopped: in these conditions the
engine heats up much more slowly
and increases fuel consumption and
emissions. It is much better to move
off slowly, avoiding high engine
speeds.
– As soon as traffic conditions and the
route permit it, use a higher gear.
– Avoid pressing the accelerator
repeatedly when stopped at traffic
lights or before turning off the
engine.
– Keep your speed as even as possible,
avoiding unnecessary braking and
accelerations, which cause fuel
wastage and markedly increases
exhaust emissions.
– Turn the engine off when stopping
for long periods of time.
– Check tire pressure regularly: if the
pressure is too low, fuel
consumption increases and the tires
are damaged.
– Do not transport unnecessary objects
left in the luggage compartment.
The weight of the vehicle affects fuel
consumption considerably.
– Use the car’s electrical devices only
for the time necessary. The power
required increases fuel consumption.
