The Mastercraft Nailer/Stapler is an electrically powered fastening tool. It features a single-shot trigger with a safety lock, ensuring controlled operation. Usage Features:

  • ON/OFF Switch: Located at the rear of the handle. Press the top to turn ON, bottom to turn OFF.
  • Loading Brad Nails:
    1. Turn the ON/OFF switch OFF and remove the plug.
    2. Squeeze the magazine latch.
    3. Slide the magazine out.
    4. Place a nail strip into the magazine track, ensuring nail heads are in the track and the row of nails lies flat on the right side.
    5. Slide the nail strip forward to the front of the track.
    6. Slide the magazine forward until it locks into position.
    • Note: Ensure the nail strip is properly nested and the magazine latch is fully engaged to prevent loosening during operation.
  • Loading Staples:
    1. Turn the ON/OFF switch OFF and remove the plug.
    2. Squeeze the magazine latch.
    3. Slide the magazine out.
    4. Place a row of T50 3/8" (10.6 mm) wide staples (max 5/8" or 16 mm length) into the magazine track, with staple crowns inserted first.
    5. Slide the staple strip forward to the front of the track.
    6. Slide the magazine forward until it locks into position.
    • Note: Only use recommended staple types. Ensure staples are properly placed and the magazine latch is fully engaged.
  • Nailing or Stapling:
    1. Hold the handle firmly with the stapler head and the rear stabilizing feet flat against the workpiece.
    2. Ensure the magazine assembly is held firmly at right angles (90°) against the workpiece.
    3. When held firmly, the safety lock will disengage, enabling activation.
    4. Squeeze the trigger switch to drive the nail or staple.
    • Note: The trigger switch will not activate if the safety lock is not disengaged.
  • Removing a Jammed Nail or Staple:
    • DANGER: Always turn the switch OFF and remove the plug from the power source before attempting to clear a jam.
    1. Turn the switch OFF and remove the plug.
    2. Turn the tool upside down, press the magazine latch, and slide the magazine outward.
    3. Remove any unused nails or staples from the magazine track.
    4. Use needle-nose pliers to remove the jammed nail or staple from the mechanism.
    • Note: Remove jams immediately. Do not attempt to drive another fastener if one is jammed, as this can damage the tool.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Cleaning:
    • DO NOT use solvents (gasoline, naphtha, acetone, lacquer thinner, petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc.) on plastic parts, as these can damage or destroy plastic.
    • Use a clean, dry cloth to remove dirt, dust, oil, and grease.
    • Regularly remove accumulated dust and debris with a soft, DRY brush.
    • Use safety goggles when using an air jet to blow dust out of the tool.
  • Lubrication: All moving parts are pre-lubricated with a high-grade lubricant for the life of the unit under normal conditions. No further lubrication is required.
  • Servicing:
    • When servicing, use only identical replacement parts to avoid hazards or damage.
    • Any repair or replacement of electrical parts must be performed by a qualified technician.
    • DO NOT attempt to modify the tool or create accessories, as this can lead to injury and void the warranty.
  • Storage: Store power tools out of reach of children and untrained persons.
