Usage Features

The MG-A422 Vertical Bench Press emphasizes proper usage for safety and effectiveness:

  • Weight Limits: Users must not exceed the specified weight limits of the device.
  • Adjustments: If applicable, users should adjust seat pads, leg pads, foot pads, range of motion, or other adjustment mechanisms to a comfortable start position. It is crucial to ensure that the adjusting mechanism is fully engaged to prevent unintentional movement and injury.
  • Safety Stops: If present, safety stops should be set to the appropriate height. For equipment with adjustable stops, the proper height depends on the exercise performed. This involves removing weight from the lifting bar, performing the exercise to determine the lowest comfortable bar position without spinal compression or contacting the body, positioning both stop catches to stop the bar at this point, ensuring they are fully seated, and then loading weights and performing the exercise. Adjustable safety stops must be used at all times.
  • Exercise Execution: Users should sit on the bench (if applicable) and get into the appropriate position for exercise. Exercise should be performed using no more weight than can be safely lifted and controlled, in a controlled manner. After exercise, the weight should be returned to its fully-supported start position.
  • Spotter: Always use a spotter when operating this equipment.
  • Adjustable Mechanisms: When adjusting any mechanism (seat position, pad location, range of motion limiter, pulley carriage, or any other type of adjuster), ensure the adjusting pin is fully engaged in the hole to avoid injury.
  • General Safety: Keep body, hair, clothing, and fitness accessories free and clear of all moving parts. Keep hands and feet clear from moving parts at all times. Never allow children on strength training equipment; teenagers must be supervised. Do not use resistance straps, ropes, or other means attached to the equipment, or for support during stretching, as this may result in serious injury.
  • Health Precautions: Injuries to health can result from incorrect or excessive training. Users should cease exercise if they feel faint or dizzy and obtain a medical exam before beginning an exercise program.

Regular maintenance is crucial for smooth operation and longevity of the equipment.

  • Upholstery & Grips: Clean daily with a mild soap and water or a non-ammonia based cleaner.
