5. Remove the USB drive from the console.
The log files and screenshot will be saved to the USB drive.
If multiple screen shots are required, the same USB drive can be used multiple times – insert it to collect

screenshot.
Preparing a USB drive
In order to prepare a USB drive for use with Matrix equipment, you must first ‘format’ it. This operation
configures the drive filesystem and clears all data, ensuring there is adequate space for console files.
WARNING – Formatting permanently removes all data and files currently stored on the USB
drive. Ensure existing data and files are saved to another storage device before formatting.
To format a USB drive on a Windows 10 PC:
1. Insert the USB drive into an available USB port on the computer.
2. Open a File Explorer window and navigate to “This PC”.
3. Locate the USB drive to use – It will frequently have a drive letter of D: or E:, but could be
others.
4. Right click on the USB drive and click on “Format”.
5. Frequently, the default settings are adequate; ensure the “File system” is set to FAT32.
6. Check that the capacity is 2-128 GB – smaller can’t fit Matrix console software files; larger isn’t
recognized by the console.
7. The USB name (Volume label) can be set to whatever desired; recommended to name it the
product and version of software saved to it for reference.
8. Click “Start” and the computer will format the drive; up to a minute to complete is normal for
large drives.
The USB drive is now formatted and prepared for use. Load the appropriate software files or settings as
needed.
