Troubleshooting Guide
Weekly
Thoroughly wipe down the console area, including all buttons, grips, handles, and other touch points.
Preventive Maintenance & Warnings
Touch & TouchXL consoles should only be installed on properly assembled, compatible Matrix Cardio
frames. Installing a console on incompatible equipment could cause damage or other issues.
Do not use any equipment that has worn, damaged, or broken parts; use only replacement & service
parts supplied by Matrix Fitness.
Usage Warnings
Do not subject the console to vibration beyond what it encounters during regular use.
Permanent damage can result if the console is struck or dropped.
Do not hang anything from the console.
Labels & Nameplates
Do not remove for any reason they contain important service, warranty, or safety information. If a
label is unreadable or missing, contact Matrix Fitness for a replacement.
Environment & Location
Facility layout should be considered that the consoles are not subjected to extreme temperatures or
humidity. Recommended climate control settings are as follows:
Temperature: 40°-104° F/5°-40° C; nominally 77°F/25°C
Humidity: 10%-90% (non-condensing), nominally 40%
Direct sunlight can make it difficult to see the console display.
Preventive Maintenance
Regular preventive maintenance, performed properly by trained technicians, will keep equipment
operating properly and safely. Touch & TouchXL consoles do not have any periodic preventive
maintenance requirements, other than general cleaning.
If not configured for automatic software updates, periodically confirming that console software is up to
date ensures the latest performance and security features are installed.
Refer to the appropriate Frame Troubleshooting Guide for frame preventive maintenance.
Console Service
Touch & TouchXL consoles should only be serviced by properly trained & qualified technicians. If a part
within the console fails, it may be necessary to remove the console from the frame and remove external
covers to access the internal electronic components thorough details on how to access & service or
replace all console components are included in PARTS REPLACEMENT & INFORMATION.
ESD (electrostatic discharge) damage can occur to console electronics when static buildup on people or
work surfaces discharges through circuit boards or wires. For this reason, it is required that all people
handling circuit boards or working within consoles wear properly grounded ESD wrist straps and work
upon properly grounded ESD mats. Please see the link below for an example of suitable ESD equipment
for these tasks.
