Overview

This document serves as a quick installation guide for the V380 Pro camera, designed to facilitate the initial setup process. Once the camera is installed, users are encouraged to download the comprehensive Operation Manual from the provided websites to fully leverage all the camera's and the accompanying app's functionalities. A more detailed Quick Installation Guide is also available for download, offering in-depth explanations. For those who prefer visual instructions, an installation guide in video format can be accessed by installing the "Maxogram" app on a mobile device and scanning the image on the product's packing box.

Function Description

The V380 Pro camera is a surveillance device designed for monitoring various environments, both indoors and outdoors. It connects to a WiFi router to transmit video and images, allowing users to remotely access and manage the camera's feed through a dedicated mobile application. The camera's core function revolves around providing real-time visual monitoring and recording capabilities, enhancing security and oversight for homes, offices, or other designated areas. It supports remote access, enabling users to view live footage and manage settings from anywhere with an internet connection. The system is built to be user-friendly, with a straightforward setup process guided by the mobile application.

Usage Features

The V380 Pro camera offers a range of features aimed at providing a seamless and effective surveillance experience.

Account Registration and App Setup:

To begin using the camera, users must first install the "V380 Pro" app, available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Upon launching the app, introductory pictures will be displayed, concluding with a "Try Now" option that leads to the main interface (Figure 1). New users need to register an account by tapping "Register" and then selecting their region (Figure 2 and 3), typically North America. The registration process requires entering an email address, which will serve as the account ID, followed by tapping "Verify Code" (Figure 2 and 4). A 6-digit verification code will be sent to the registered email address, which must be entered within 60 seconds. If the time limit is exceeded, users can request a new code. After successful verification, users will set a password (containing numbers and letters) and tap "Submit" (Figure 4A). Once the account is registered, users can log in using their email and newly created password (Figure 5).

Connecting the Camera to WiFi:

The next crucial step is connecting the camera to a WiFi router. This is initiated by tapping the "+" icon in the app (Figure 6) and ensuring the camera is powered on (Figure 7). For iOS users, the "ADD MANUALLY" and "DEVICE(S) NEARBY" options may not be visible. For bulb-type cameras, users should turn off the power switch, install the camera into the socket, and then turn on the power switch before proceeding. The app will then prompt users to tap "Next." Users must wait to hear the voice prompt "Access-Point established" from the camera before tapping the arrow to continue (Figure 8).

Android Specific Connection Steps:

For Android devices, Figure 9 will be displayed. Users should tap the Access-Point number (MVxxxxxxxx). If the MVxxxxxxxx is not shown, users can tap "Refresh." If an error message (Figure 17) appears, users should navigate to their phone's Settings to resolve the issue. Figure 10 will then be shown, prompting users to select a 2.4GHz WiFi router and enter its password. It's important to note that 5GHz WiFi is not supported. After entering the password, users tap "Confirm" (which might be hidden under the keyboard).

iOS Specific Connection Steps:

For iOS devices, Figure 11 will be shown. Users need to go to their iPhone's Settings, tap "WiFi," and connect to the camera's hotspot (MVxxxxxxxx). After connecting, they must return to the app and wait for the WiFi signal icon to appear in the top left corner of the status bar (this typically takes around 40 seconds). Once the icon appears, users tap "Next." Figure 12 will then be displayed, where users select a 2.4GHz WiFi router, enter its password, and tap "Start." A small pop-up screen will appear.

Device Naming and Password Setting:

After successful WiFi connection, Figure 13 and 13A will be shown. Users can choose to select or enter a custom device name or simply skip this step. The camera will then announce "WiFi connected," and Figure 14 will be displayed. To secure the camera, users tap the "Play" button on Figure 14 and then "Set password" (Figure 15). A password (containing numbers and letters) must be entered and confirmed (Figure 16). Once this is done, the camera is ready for use.

Remote Access and Monitoring:

The camera allows for remote viewing of live footage through the V380 Pro app. Users can access their camera feed from anywhere with an internet connection, providing constant oversight of their monitored areas. The app interface is designed to be intuitive, allowing for easy navigation between different camera views and settings.

Device Sharing:

The system includes a feature for device sharing, allowing users to grant access to their camera feed to friends or family members. This enhances collaborative monitoring and ensures that multiple trusted individuals can keep an eye on the property.

Voice Prompts:

The camera provides voice prompts during the setup process, guiding users through each step, such as "Access-Point established" and "WiFi connected." This auditory feedback helps confirm successful actions and troubleshoot issues.

Maintenance Features

Maintaining the V380 Pro camera involves ensuring optimal connectivity and security.

Restoring to Factory Default Settings:

If issues arise or if the camera needs to be reconfigured, users can restore it to its factory default settings. This process requires the camera to be powered on. Users must press and hold the "Reset" button on the camera for more than 5 seconds. The camera will then announce "Restore factory's default setting," followed by "Access Point establishing," and finally "Access Point established," indicating a successful reset. This feature is useful for troubleshooting persistent connectivity problems or when transferring ownership of the camera.

Addressing WiFi Signal Connectivity Issues:

WiFi signal strength is critical for the camera's performance. The guide acknowledges that WiFi signals can weaken when passing through physical barriers such as walls, ceilings, pillars, and furniture. This can lead to a loss of WiFi signal strength, especially when cameras are installed outdoors or in locations with multiple obstructions between the router and the camera.

Optimizing Network Speed:

For stable operation, an upload and download speed of more than 2Mbps is recommended at the camera's location. Users can test their internet speed near the camera using free speed test apps available on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. If the internet speed is insufficient for smooth communication between the router and the camera, users may need to install a WiFi range extender closer to the camera to boost signal strength and improve connectivity.

Password Management:

Setting and managing a strong password for the camera is a crucial security measure. The app prompts users to set a password during the initial setup (Figure 15 and 16) to protect their device and ensure privacy. Regular password changes are recommended to maintain security.

Troubleshooting and Support:

The guide encourages users to download the full Operation Manual for detailed explanations of all functions and advanced troubleshooting. For video-based guidance, the "Maxogram" app offers an installation guide. The document also includes a disclaimer acknowledging that various factors, such as network environments, network companies, and the performance of connected networks and Micro SD cards, can affect the camera's operation. Therefore, the camera is subject to errors and omissions, and the consistency or accuracy of acquired videos, photos, and recordings is not guaranteed. This transparency helps users understand potential limitations and manage expectations.

By following these guidelines, users can effectively set up, operate, and maintain their V380 Pro camera for reliable surveillance.
