What to do if Maytag AKS3040 burners won't ignite and no spark at ignitors?

If your Maytag Cooktop burners won't ignite and there's no spark at the burner ignitors when you push down, turn, and hold the burner knob in the LITE position, first, check if there's electricity reaching the unit. Then, see if a circuit breaker has tripped or a fuse has blown, and reset the breaker or replace the fuse if needed. Also, the microswitch contacts might not be closing, so inspect the activator movement and replace the microswitch if necessary. Check the connections for tightness in case of faulty wiring. If the ignitor is broken, consider replacing it. Ensure the spark module is working correctly, and if the ignitor ceramic is dirty or the spark gap is out of adjustment, clean the ceramic and check the grounding strap.
