  Several factors can cause unsatisfactory drying or long drying times. First, ensure the lint screen is clean before each load. A clogged lint screen restricts airflow. Also, check the exhaust vent and outside exhaust hood for lint buildup. If you don't feel air movement when holding your hand under the outside exhaust hood while the dryer is running, clean the exhaust system or replace the vent with a heavy metal or flexible metal vent. Make sure that the exhaust vent is not too long or has too many turns. Using 4" (102 mm) diameter vent material is also important. Ensure you've selected the correct temperature setting for the garments you're drying, and avoid overloading the dryer, as this prevents clothes from tumbling freely.
