Why are my clothes not drying properly in my Maytag MEDC215EW?
    • L
      Lisa KruegerAug 18, 2025
If your clothes are not drying satisfactorily or drying times are too long, it might be due to several reasons. First, ensure that the lint screen is cleaned before each load. A clogged exhaust vent or outside exhaust hood can restrict air movement; check for air movement by holding your hand under the outside exhaust hood while the dryer runs for 5-10 minutes. Also, make sure the exhaust vent is not too long, doesn't have too many turns, and has a 4" (102 mm) diameter. Ensure that the dryer is level so that clothes contact the moisture sensors during Automatic cycles. Avoid using the Air Fluff cycle for regular drying, and do not overload the dryer; separate the load to tumble freely.

What to do if my Maytag MEDC215EW Dryer won't start?

If your Maytag Dryer will not run, make sure the door is completely closed. Press and hold the PUSH to START knob until you hear the dryer drum moving. Check your household fuses or circuit breakers; electric dryers use 2 fuses or circuit breakers, so replace both fuses or reset the circuit breaker. Ensure your electric dryer has a 240-volt power supply by checking with a qualified electrician. Use a time-delay fuse.

Why is my Maytag Dryer not heating?
    • C
      Carolyn HolmesAug 23, 2025
If your Maytag dryer is not heating, the drum may be turning, but you may not have heat. Electric dryers use 2 household fuses or circuit breakers. Replace the fuses or reset the circuit breaker. If the problem continues, call an electrician. Electric dryers require a 240-volt power supply. Check with a qualified electrician. For gas dryers, make sure that the valve on the gas supply line is open.

What causes rattling noise in my Maytag MEDC215EW?
    • B
      Brian NortonAug 26, 2025
Rattling or vibrating noises in your Maytag dryer can be caused by a few things. Check the front and rear edges of the drum for small objects, and remember to clean out pockets before laundering. Ensure the dryer is properly leveled, as vibration can occur if it's not correctly installed and all four feet should be in firm contact with the floor. Clothing balled up in the dryer can also cause it to vibrate; separate the items and restart the dryer.

Why does my Maytag Dryer have lint on clothes?
    • N
      Nicole TurnerAug 28, 2025
If you notice lint on your clothes after drying in your Maytag dryer, the lint screen is likely clogged with lint. Clean the lint screen before each load to prevent this issue.

Why does my laundry feel too hot after using my Maytag MEDC215EW?
    • C
      Charles PottsAug 30, 2025
If laundry items were removed from the dryer before the end of the cycle, allow the Cool Down cycle to finish before removing laundry from dryer. All cycles are cooled slowly to reduce wrinkling and make it easier to handle. Items removed before Cool Down may feel very warm. If a high temperature cycle was used or Temperature/Fabric control was set to high, select a lower temperature, and use an automatic drying cycle to reduce overdrying.

Why is my Maytag Dryer cycle time too short?
    • E
      Elizabeth CunninghamSep 2, 2025
If the automatic cycle is ending early on your Maytag dryer, the load may not be contacting the sensor strips, so level the dryer. For very small loads, use Timed Dry. You can also change the Dry Level setting on Sensor Dry/Automatic Dry cycles to adjust the drying time; increasing or decreasing the Dry Level setting will change the amount of drying time in a cycle.

Why are my clothes wrinkled after using my Maytag MEDC215EW Dryer?
    • G
      Gary CalhounSep 4, 2025
If your loads are wrinkled after drying in your Maytag dryer, it may be because the load was not removed promptly at the end of the cycle. Use a cycle with Wrinkle Control to tumble the load without heat to avoid wrinkling. Also, avoid tightly packing the dryer; dry smaller loads that can tumble freely to reduce wrinkle formation.

    Tamara NovakSep 7, 2025
Why does my Maytag MEDC215EW make a thumping noise?
    • V
      Vanessa ShepherdSep 7, 2025
A thumping noise in your Maytag dryer is normal if the dryer hasn’t been used in a while. The thumping sound should diminish after a few minutes of use.

    Sherri SandersSep 9, 2025
Why does my Maytag Dryer have stains on clothes?
    • C
      Courtney WilliamsSep 9, 2025
If there are stains on your clothes after using your Maytag dryer, it could be due to improper use of fabric softener. Add dryer fabric softener sheets at the beginning of the cycle, because fabric softener sheets added to a partially dried load can stain your garments.
