Check the vent from the dryer to the wall for crushing or kinking, and ensure it’s free of lint and debris. Confirm the exterior vent exhaust hood is free of lint and debris. Verify your vent system meets the recommended run length and elbow count for your vent type. Try a Timed Dry heated cycle, and restart the dryer. If the message persists, have your entire home venting run cleaned.

  Recent painting, staining, or varnishing in the dryer area can cause odors. Ventilate the area, and rewash and dry the clothing once the odors are gone. For odors left in garments after wearing (steam models only), select Refresh.

Dry smaller loads that can tumble freely. For steam cycles, ensure water is connected to the dryer, the inlet hose is connected to both the faucet and dryer, and the water supply is turned on.
