Why are my clothes not drying in my Maytag MEDB855DC?
    • M
      Madison ThomasAug 21, 2025
If clothes are not drying well or drying times are too long in your Maytag Dryer, first, clean the lint screen before each load and the area where the lint screen is located, removing any accumulated lint with a vacuum. Next, check the exhaust vent and outside exhaust hood for clogs; run the dryer on Air Only for 5–10 minutes and feel for air movement at the hood. Clean the exhaust system or replace the vent with a heavy metal or flexible metal vent if needed. Also, ensure the exhaust vent isn't too long, doesn't have too many turns, and is the correct 4" (102 mm) diameter. Finally, make sure the dryer is level, and you've selected the right temperature setting for your garments.

Why is my Maytag Dryer making a rattling noise?
    • C
      Carl HamiltonAug 25, 2025
If your Maytag Dryer is making a rattling or vibrating noise, check the front and rear edges of the drum for small objects. Also, ensure the dryer is properly leveled with all four feet firmly on the floor. If clothing is balled up, separate the items and restart the dryer.

Why is my Maytag MEDB855DC not heating up?
    • D
      David RomeroAug 26, 2025
If your Maytag dryer isn't heating, the drum may still be turning, but there could be an issue with the heat. Check your household fuses or circuit breakers, as electric dryers use two. Replace any blown fuses or reset tripped breakers. If the issue continues, contact an electrician to ensure your electric dryer has a 240-volt or 208-volt power supply. For gas dryers, verify that the valve on the gas supply line is open.

Why is there lint on my clothes after using my Maytag Dryer?
    • C
      cmunozAug 28, 2025
If lint appears on your clothes after drying in your Maytag Dryer, it is likely because the lint screen is clogged. Make sure to clean the lint screen before each load.

Why is my laundry load too hot after using my Maytag MEDB855DC Dryer?
    • T
      Troy LeeAug 30, 2025
If your Maytag Dryer load is too hot, allow the dryer to complete the cool-down portion of the cycle before removing the load. If you're using a Timed Dry cycle with a high temperature setting, switch to a Sensor Cycle with a lower heat setting to prevent overdrying.

Why does the “Check Vent” light come on my Maytag MEDB855DC Dryer?
    • D
      dbookerSep 1, 2025
If your Maytag Dryer displays the “Check Vent” cycle status indicator, it means the vent is clogged, crushed, kinked, or has too many turns, leading to a blocked vent or low airflow. To resolve this: * Clean the lint screen. * Check the vent run from the dryer to the wall for crushing or kinking. * Ensure the vent run is free of lint and debris. * Confirm the exterior vent exhaust hood is clear of lint and debris. * Verify your vent system is within the recommended run length and number of elbows. If the message persists, have your entire home venting run cleaned by a venting specialist.

    • R
      Renee Lara DDSSep 3, 2025
If your Maytag Dryer displays an “F# E#” code (like F1 E1, F3 E1), it means the dryer has detected a problem requiring professional service. Call for service to address the issue.

Why is the cycle time too short on my Maytag Dryer?
    • S
      Sherry RyanSep 5, 2025
If your Maytag dryer cycle time is too short, it might be because the load isn't contacting the sensor strips properly during Sensor Cycles. Make sure the dryer is level, with all four feet firmly on the floor. If you're using the Steam Refresh cycle for one or two items, add a towel to help avoid uneven spraying. Adjust the dryness level setting on Sensor Cycles; increasing or decreasing the dryness level will change the cycle's drying time. If loads consistently end too early, you may also need to adjust the Sensor Cycle settings to increase drying time.

Why are there stains on my clothes after using my Maytag Dryer?
    • S
      Sharon CallahanSep 8, 2025
If you find stains on your clothes after using your Maytag Dryer, it could be due to improper use of fabric softener. Add dryer fabric softener sheets at the beginning of the cycle, as adding them to a partially dried load can cause stains. Also, avoid using fabric softener sheets with steam cycles.

What does “PF” mean on my Maytag MEDB855DC display?
    • J
      Jennifer MaciasSep 10, 2025
If your Maytag Dryer displays “PF” (power failure), it means the drying cycle was interrupted by a power outage. Touch the START key to clear the message, then press and hold START to resume the cycle.
